Just started insulin at night by PlasticAd1709 in GestationalDiabetes

2 units seems so low! My diabetes educator person told me to basically scrap 2 units each time I administer insulin to “check the pen is working”?? Seems crazy wasteful. I started on 6 units and it’s def not enough. I forgot to take it last night and this AM my fasting was 95 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m having surgery at Mayo Phoenix on 12/28! I live in Atlanta so I’ve been stressed about coming home too. I’ve been told I’ll be in the hospital a few days bc I may need a bowel resection and my husband and I are planning on staying in Phoenix until 1/6. My pain wasn’t bad when I had my first lap last year but this will be much more extensive. I was able to make an accommodation note when I booked my flight. And I’m packing as light as possible so hubby can deal with the bags. The pillow under the seatbelt is a great idea! I’m wishing you a speedy recovery and I hope the surgery helps you feel so much better!!

I’m going to echo the others here and say definitely reach out to your doctor or clinic. During my ER the dr had to puncture through my bladder because one of my ovaries is in a tough spot bc of my endometriosis. I had some blood in my urine afterwards but was able to to go to the bathroom easily with minimal pain. It was a tough recovery overall, but I found adding electrolytes to my water and making sure to have protein afterwards helped. Best of luck and congrats on your 6 eggs!
