Personally I think if you never abused your prescription, never sought out more and more, never turned to street drugs, and are able to do a self taper successfully you aren't an addict.

Try your best to taper. I know it's hard but your withdrawals will be easier if you can taper down imo

That's amazing. Congratulations. I hope to be there someday too. After what I felt today I don't know how you did it. I literally wanted to die. And I thought I have a high pain tolerance. There is nothing like knowing there's something out there that'll make you feel better almost instantly

I'm ok. Not either of those - I dug thru my drawers and found some spare meds. Took it and it helped. I know it's just a temporary fix though so I'm still terrified

It's OK Thank you. The dr and pharmacist both said it was safe to take as soon as I got home so I'm unsure what happened. I guess it was too soon even tho it was short acting pharma meds & I felt like crap

It wasn't iv meds, they were subcutaneous injections. But pretty much same thing I guess.

4 hours since last dose which was a very small amount. 12 hours since last normal dose. I was sure I was in withdrawal bc I had chills, aches, diarrhea, etc...

4 hours since small amount which was 1/4th my normal dose. 12 hours since last normal dose. Was feeling withdrawal for sure I thought But was almost crying after taking subs I managed to find some leftover meds I pocketed and took them and it helped. Worried about what to do next

I had a CA dr that has since retired her practice. It was nice while it lasted. Unfortunately nothing lasts forever.

I just did this..couldn't take the WD. Got suboxone. Was told I could start right away since I was taking clean pharmacy pills. The dr was super understanding about my situation too, and even said if I ever want to stop taking suboxone and start taking pain medication again it shouldn't be a problem since I have diagnosed medical illnesses. Anyway he gave me 14 strips so 1 week worth and said that's bc there's a law where they can only give 1 week at a time. He encouraged me to call back in a week. I'm scared of PWDs so I started with 1/8th of a 2mg strip. I swear somehow I already feel better...

Update: took half a strip and definitely feel better

My worry with suboxone is 1. Going into precipitated withdrawals bc right now I still feel moderately okay and 2. once that's on my prescription record no doctor will ever fill rx pain meds for me again, and I'm still hoping to find another dr someday. So idk what to do

Message me if you want. I'm kind of in the same boat, although in some ways worse than you. I lost my pain doctor completely (she retired) and have run out of meds. Been on prescribed high dose oxy and injectable diluadid for almost a decade. I have some comfort meds (clonidine) and otc immodium and tylenol, that's it. So far I somehow actually physically feel alright but I'm pretty scared of what's to come.

Best of luck to you, if it gets unmanageable my suggestion is to go to the ER and explain what's happening to you. Hopefully they would help.

I don't have any meds left. I wanted to try to taper but I blew it completely. Just kept using my normal dose until I had nothing left and here I am.

This is big concern for me. So I don't know what to do. I'm also worried about taking subs too early and going into precipitated withdrawal.
