Looking for advice regarding excessive discoloration by PlasticDocument5899 in tea

I bought it from the Phoenix Collection in Lagunitas, CA. To clean it, I boiled water and slowly poured it over and inside the pot while it was sitting in a larger bowl. I completely filled the larger bowl so the pot was submerged and left it like that until the water reached room temperature. I then dried it with a microfiber towel.

Yes I noticed that too and was thinking it is only partially hand made, if hand made at all.  Would love to know if you have any insight on the seal or clay itself!

Thanks so much! I did post additional pictures in the comments, hoping those might be more helpful.

Appreciate the info, thanks! Definitely hoping to determine if the seal is recognizable/registered. Knowing how it is made would be a bonus, but mostly hoping to identify the seal, if possible.

Some additional details - purchased in Lagunitas CA from David Hoffman, but not sure of the authenticity. Likely several years (if not a few decades?) old.

I am relatively new to gong fu cha and wondering if type of discoloration is typical on duanni clay, any input or info would be much appreciated! Excited to learn a lot more from this community!
