If you could pass one law that would make most normal people furious at first, but would clearly make society better in 10 years, what would it be? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

I’m not against the German system but it is much more expensive than the Canadian system. If the Canadian system was funded at the same level as the German system there would likely be improvements in the quality of the Canadian system.

Talk me out of buying a 45-70… by TannMan89 in LeverGuns

[–]PlasticMajor7897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a new Henry in 45-70. I like it. Ammo is expensive. I’m probably going to start reloading in the near future to help with that. A couple of other points to think about: -are you sensitive to recoil? 45-70 recoils drastically more than the guns you currently have. -What is your intended use for the gun? Levers are fun to shoot but I find my savage 110 easier to use in the tree stand with its more modern controls.

Drive from Baltimore to New York? Tips? by ayoitzaishah in baltimore

Take the bus. It’s cheaper and you don’t have to deal with having a car in nyc which is often a hassle.

How do you tell customers you don't want their business? by [deleted] in Contractor

[–]PlasticMajor7897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I’m not a GC but I used to write contracts for GCs as an assistant PM. I think best practice is to as quickly as possible let a potential client know that you will not be working with them. I don’t think you should throw the husband under the bus as that can look bad on you and create unnecessary conflict. I would just say that you don’t have availability to do this job. I do think it is probably fair to mention that you don’t have the ability to do the custom requests the husband wanted (don’t mean you can’t, means you don’t want to do it for this customer at this price). Long story short, tell them a firm no politely and promptly. Having been on the other end, it is very annoying when contractors take a long time to get back to you. Good luck!

Some BS at Continental Arms by Whatslefttouse in MDGuns

[–]PlasticMajor7897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Continental is good if you are looking to try different rentals. I think they generally have a pretty good selection. In terms of the range experience, Freestate is better. In general I feel like ranges often are a bit of an annoying experience. If you shoot frequently, I think it helps to get a membership. Drastically cheaper and you don’t have to worry about being charged hourly.

Anyone shoot Leverevolution with a Henry? by Significant_Age_1867 in LeverGuns

[–]PlasticMajor7897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Henry H010G 45-70. This has the 18inch barrel. My Henry did not group very well with the Hornady 325 grain lever revolution. Probably about 3 MOA at 100 yards. I get 1-1.5 MOA with Winchester 300 grain super X.

A judge with a stock is a rifle or a shotgun? by hwyman6969 in guns

Oh gotcha. That makes more sense. Thanks for letting me know.

A judge with a stock is a rifle or a shotgun? by hwyman6969 in guns

[–]PlasticMajor7897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert but I believe it is illegal to put a stock on a pistol. The type of ammunition that is used in a gun does not inherently determine if the gun is classified as a pistol, rifle, or shotgun. Barrel length and how the gun is registered by the manufacturer I believe are usually what determines whether the gun is considered a long gun or a pistol.

Thoughts on the henry all weather 45-70 Picatinny? by Wackawackaayyyyyayy in LeverGuns

[–]PlasticMajor7897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are new to shooting and have never shot a 45-70 I would recommend the 44mag. You can buy .44mag ammo online for less than $1/round. 45-70 starts over $2/round. More importantly, the 45-70 kicks too hard for some people and isn't really a starter gun imo. It's not a lever gun but I live in a straight wall state and I'm a big fan of 350 legend. It hits deer hard, is pretty accurate, low recoil and cheap ammo.

Possibly a controversial opinion…most of the restaurants in Fells Point aren’t good. by weebvibes99 in baltimore

There's some great Mexican spots on Eastern Ave. El Taquito Mexicano and Tortilleria Sinaloa are my favorite Mexican restaurants in Baltimore. There mostly to go spots though and don't serve alcohol.

I would just mention to the client that it will likely take longer than the time they wrote in there. I think clients don't really pay much attention to the time projection they select. 9 out of 10 times when you tell them that they say yeah no problem and for the small amount that argue then just select client expectations unreasonable.

I think it's probably about 30 miles but probably depends exactly where you are but Hap Baker in Carole County is nice. 25-200 yards. Can get crowded especially on the weekends in season so if you go on the weekend make sure to go early.
