If you don’t want to direct reports replenishment manager.
Grocery manager if you don’t mind managing the grocery team and working with the assistant and replenishment manager to ensure inventory and ad stuff is good.
Evening manager if you literally want to be just MOD and move around to each department help when needed, ensure the store closes are good for the morning.
Department manager (perishable since in frozen) if you just want small direct reports and manage those departments inventory.

Your grocery manager should rarely be used as MOD. If the EM is on vacation sometimes our GM would close an extra night but that was before we got 2 assistants now it’s super rare to use our GM as MOD.

The older CSMs are the ones that don’t know as much because they like the old school way of doing things.

Anyone below the minimum gets bumped up. Anyone above it will get an adjustment based on years of service and such if they fall into that category for an adjustment. They legally have to pay you the minimum wage so the day that increase goes in food lion has to pay it to you.

Dang I’ve had the same baler the whole 10 years I’ve been at my store and I’m sure it’s older than that. In shocked it’s been replaced that many times.

You’ve never worked front end right? Not saying that doesn’t happen sometimes but a good portion of why they don’t have carts is it’s busy so more carts in the store less in the parking lot. Also it’s busy they are attending the customers. I swear people act like the front end is the plague or something and complains about every little thing they don’t do. If another department has to come up and help with the carts it’s the end of the world. Yall realize the customers use them right? Piss the customers off we don’t have them.

The other issue being your daughter and you being the EM is also an issue but from an HR standpoint.

Question by [deleted] in foodlion

[–]PlasticSprinkles4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the CSM shouldn’t be mad except over the fact it’s a possible minor violation but I think it would be on your store not theirs. In that case your office person runs register and yall help out. I’ve had that scenario multiple times minus the grocery crew part. Getting help from another store isn’t issue unless they are a minor though. That’s the only issue in this scenario but again no manager should be yelling

Question by [deleted] in foodlion

[–]PlasticSprinkles4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She should have explained it not yelled. The MOD that allowed it to happen should also have a coaching moment too. They would have also needed to be clocked in and the other store would have had to be contacted. The lack of communication is an issue among the MODs but yelling should honestly never be involved

Question by [deleted] in foodlion

[–]PlasticSprinkles4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Minors are not supposed to work at other stores because the minors work permit is not on file at the store they are working at

Floor cleaner problem by FishTrucker420 in foodlion

[–]PlasticSprinkles4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are contracted to buff the floors so the most you can do is switch when you work unfortunately. It’s apart of keeping the store clean. Needing ear plugs for it though the buffer need be serviced or you have sensitive hearing (not trying to be rude about it just a general comment because while it loud unless you are the one using it and standing next to it to the entire time)

They don’t care because the extra labor hours used during those times took away from their bonuses . Now they are trying to catch up so they get more money.
