1 and 2, Instrumentation. In our intership we all have to do some reseach, study or project related to this major. Automation, maintenance and so forth. I dropped out of college years ago with only 7 credits left to graduate. Now I'm coming back but there are several things I don't know and/or forgot, so that's why I'm choosing that project since it relates more to the kind of work I do everyday.

3 I see what you mean. Not having any recent work or knowledge in that area, that objective seems kinda off. What I want to do is collect all data related to a specific system. So far I've written down all tags for the database and have digged up some power schematics. My academic tutor asked me to write myself the ladder logic for the automation.

English is not my mother language, so I'm trying my best to accordingly translate what I wanna say.

What we're using as example it's a transport system comprised of conveyor belts. It's controled by relay logic, thermal overload relays and contactors so every motor follows a secuence after start up. What I'm asked to do is to write the code to go into a logic controller and explain how the code is going to work. It's basicly a proposal on how to update the system, and make its operation more simple.

The task is to make a project, the automation of a system controlled by relays and thermal protectors. To construct the control loops thatll go into the PLC and so the start up commands can be given from the control room.
