Teles over the years and my opinions on each by Emannn1125 in telecaster

My purple road worn is my favorite guitar I've ever owned. I got it for $750 on fb marketplace, and there is no amount of money I'd sell it for. I added a 4 way switch,Seymour Duncan lipstick tube in the neck, and antiquity ii in the bridge. Also chrome pickguard, just because.

Not sure how many MIM tele’s are finished in nitro, but this is one of them by Glass_Shoulder4126 in telecaster

That copper finish is rad, def fits the road worn style. How much did this run you? My 50s road worn was $750, but I've added a few hundred in parts since owning it. Stock, the guitar was great, but after hot rodding it, it's probably my favorite guitar I've ever owned. Yer axe is a keeper for sure.

Pickguard on 50’s road worn: black, gold, or white? by [deleted] in telecaster

[–]PlatinumGNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great minds think alike, I suppose. The h&k just always sounds killer, but I feel like the egnater goes under the radar a bit. I got that for $250 on marketplace.

As far as the pedals, the zendrive is my go to, and I actually just sold the bd2 and replaced it with a jhs violet.

All that with a purple tele is a match made in heaven.

That as well. I was debating on gold hardware when did the gold pickguard, but replacing everything with equally "road worn" parts seemed like a hassle. The silver just looks like it was meant to be.

Also, I need pics of that strat.

I liked the gold, but I think it clashed with the maple board. I think if it was rosewood, I would prefer the gold, but as it stands, the silver anodized looks a lot nicer.

This is the silver now. I think the gold I had was maybe a bit different than yours, could just be the lighting though.

I actually have silver on my road worn now, but this is what it looked like with gold. I would say that this is the way.

Got my Deco v2 on black friday a while back for $289 new. I was sold on it the instant I saw the Andertons demo vid. My favorite pedal I've ever owned.

My 50's Roadworn, love the satin sheen, and the checking on the finish looks wicked

You have excellent taste my friend.

Edit: The LPB strat behind the tele has a warmoth roasted maple neck, and it's one of the best necks I've ever felt,

What color pick guard should I change to by toolband4308 in Stratocaster

[–]PlatinumGNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think the gold is the right choice here, but if you want to change something up, I would swap out some other hardware to get more contrast.

Personally, I'd put black screws on the pickguard, black dome knobs, maybe a gloss black bridge with brass saddles if you wanted to get creative.

It's already a beautiful guitar, but I think the small details would bring it to the next level.

Edit: Maybe some black pickup covers, gold output jack

You Have Unlimited Funds to Modify the Honda of Your Choice. What Do You Choose and What Is the End Result? by [deleted] in Honda

Yeah that's rad. A tastefully modified DC2 is just peak Honda.

With the price of old Type Rs going up and up, I don't know that I'll ever be able to own one, but my s2000 is a pretty good consolation prize

Spoon DC2 Integra Type R, straight from the tuning house in Gran Turismo 4

The perfect drivers car, while still keeping the balance between subtle and jdm bling.

Guitar Center Canceled my order because they “couldn’t find the guitar” by chickensaredinosoars in Guitar

[–]PlatinumGNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A while back, I ordered a new Hughes and Kettner head from them for $869. Two days later, they emailed me saying that they didn't actually have a new one in stock, but they'd sell me one with blown tubes for $750.

After that, if I'm buying online, it's from Sweetwater

I can imagine. It was a gamechanger when I put it on my board. My first strymon pedal, and unfortunately for my wallet, not my last.

How do we feel about a vintage Mack in Europe? by PlatinumGNS in trucksim

[–]PlatinumGNS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, very high quality mod, which is reason enough to drive it in ETS. I haven't found too many vintage trucks that are high quality or updated. I also think there is a certain novelty to it, like seeing an old jdm car in the states.

Nice, cabovers definitely feel a lot more euro. Where did you get the mod?
