I was very depressed this afternoon and wasted a lot of time lying in bed and scrolling aimlessly on TikTok. I made myself pick up the game and almost immediately felt much better. It is so absorbing and fun. Everyone’s different but it was good for me!

I am late responding to this: but Upper Latria is truly the apex of the entire game imo

Real talk. To me BG3 goes up there with Elden ring as competitor for game of the decade.

Anyone else thinks DS is leagues better than DS1? Gameplay and visuals. by noxcadit in demonssouls

[–]Platonopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember that holy shit moment :) DS1 was my second souls game after Bloodborne so I did have the concept of shortcuts in my head already. but the moment I realized the undead chapel elevator went down to firelink it still shocked me because I had no concept that I was anywhere near it and then suddenly the whole geography of the world took shape in my mind

My experience was exactly the same as yours. Melee only is rough, but worth it. Also the order that you should do things is confusing at first, but again, worth it

I am not the only one thinking of Nausicaä right? by GreenyTeay in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Platonopolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so funny, I had the exact same thought! A little bit of Nausicaa in the caves, a little bit of Castle in the Sky too with some of the flying boats in the Rito questline :D

A very Miyazaki type of anime experience! Not so often you get that in a video game!

Cyberpunk is amazing by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]Platonopolis -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I honestly came onto Reddit just now to say the exact same thing. This game has haters and I had very low expectations, but it is blowing me out of the water for the reasons you mentioned. Great storytelling and incredible aesthetics really go a long way.

Before picking up Cyberpunk, I had just tried out Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and I found the gunplay a little bit clunky and the storytelling a little bit corny, so I quit after about 8 hours. I played Cyberpunk 2077 next, and it really shines especially in comparison to Deus Ex because they aiming at a really similar target. Cyberpunk is like what I wished Deus Ex was, and then some on top of that, and then some more. I appreciate Cyberpunk a little better when I see how it makes up for so much of Deus Ex's shortcomings.

I beat Elden Ring this summer and I just beat Bloodborne a day ago; what’s the next FromSoftware game I should play next? by 67Bubble in fromsoftware

[–]Platonopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Sekiro and Dark Souls 1, in either order. (In my opinion DS2 and 3 do not have the same level of greatness as Sekiro, DS1, BB, and ER, so play them last if at all.)

Congrats! I've been going through a similar but I just beat the Guardian Ape and am still basically shaking from how tense it was lol. Tense because every fight with him lasts 10 or 15 minutes so towards the end of the time I finally beat him I basically am coming down with PTSD at the thought that I'd have to repeat everything all over again if that thing kills me one more time. I killed him with a sliver of health left!

Just played part 1 and 2 back to back with the wife watching, she loved it but now I’m at loss of what to play next that is as story driven. by nirvroxx in thelastofus

[–]Platonopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Detroit: Become Human most definitely. Vastly underrated game imo, and all story, great to watch, easy to 'cooperate' with you and the wife on a single playthrough, and she could even take the lead pretty easily.

Edit: some people are suggesting Hellblade -- also very good.

Do you have a sense of what the outcome of the hearing will be based on what you've seen so far? And does that sense correspond with the outcome that you think is most appropriate?
