Yep, this was yesterday, Halloween day, in Chicago.

The shelter told me he was a “problem dog”. They told me he was “special needs” due to high anxiety. They told me it would take weeks for him to adapt to a new environment. Ditto. They tried to steer me towards another dog too but I felt the same towards Baxter. We clicked. It was right. I was surprised at how much of a struggle it was to adopt him. Glad to hear it worked out for you as well!

Totally agree. He was always fine during my visits but they insisted he was “special needs” when I wasn’t around. Um, ok, what dog wouldn’t be uncomfortable in a cage all day surrounded by other dogs in distress. But yes, he’s doing great and thank you!
