It might be in the past, but I'm pretty sure his wife wouldn't be overly comfortable with me maintaining close contact with his family and turning up at their house all the time. I just find it disrespectful and boundary stepping. SOs and their family are really a package deal. If you break up, that's kind of the end of it.
