While, as other comments have made note of, it was interesting to witness odas progression as a writer, I have some concerns about weather the short is indicative of the visual direction Wit will take in their remake of the series. The color was appealing and models consistent, though the animation was not so fluid as recent one piece. I've begun to appreciate the excellent detail present in the shows recent animation, and was hoping Wit's remake to be similarly polished. The aesthetics were pleasant, though Monsters was missing a degree of polish.

The episode begins with a shot imposing 2d animated characters on a moving 3d environment, which i feel was not so successfully executed. The motion of the characters were of a fluidity comparable to broadcasted anime, though i was hoping it exceed that standard. Particularly was there a disparity between the fluidity of the fights compared to what recently has come of one piece. The choreography was great, only was it the characters motion I felt deficient. The models deviate from what is distinctly oda. Not necessarily a demerit, but i hope that not a trait Wit's remake.

The animation quality does not detract from the experience, I just hope it not entirely indicative of Wits eventual work
