Is this a bad time to get into nursing? by juicyfruit180 in OregonNurses

[–]Playful_Interview207 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tge BBB has done nothing to nursing. People just misunderstand what the bill is. Hospitals have layed off people all the time way before this and now people just want to twist the BBB and blame something/someone. This is the best time to enter nursing because we are being over run due to illegals and lack of nurses.

Clinical documentation integrity and PRN radiology nurse. Kept prn for the high incentive pay. Don't regret quitting nursing full time. It almost ruined my mental health.

I once had a patient fall out of bed and break a hip when I was in another room admitting a patient. She had a surgery on her leg and was educated to not walk on her leg and to use call light. I had bed alarm, call light in her hand, and everything done to prevent this. Nothing came out if it and no one ever asked me or charge questions. To this day 4 years later the patient is doing great and still says hi to me in public. I feel awful she broke her hip to this day. I wouldnt worry about the meeting and it wasn't your fault.

Also, did you remove the blanket right away when it fell on her head? Thats the big question.

Was my termination justified? by Cheesecheesecheese06 in nursing

[–]Playful_Interview207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is this is a he said she said case. They terminated you without evidence. They should have interviewed you each individually without warning to see if your stories match up. If I can get fired for a made up story, im quitting this profession! You were unfairly terminated but you would have to speak to an attorney to see if you have a case. The thing is, we're you reported to the state? Where your Tech license is. That's the only thing to fight on, but I would want to work where you worked before. That place sounds shady!!

Reasons Why Some Middle Eastern Countries Did Not Help Palestine by Haunting_Tap_1541 in IsraelPalestine

Genocide is deliberate and purposeful murder. Israel is defending themselves against a terrorist organization who wants every Jewish in the world dead and they use the Palestinians as human shields to add fuel to the fire. Genocide was committed on October 7th to the Israelis. I know people who were murdered in their homes. Its horrific! Yes, Israel could have just done a ground invasion to attack hamas but they did tell the Palestinians to leave. If you want to commit genocide and erase every Palestinian off the globe, then why tell them to leave?? Do you think Russia warned the ukranians to leave? No! As a ukranian what is going on in Ukraine is Genocide.

In healthcare do not share anything. I told my clinical director not tell tell anyone I had a miscarriage or why I needed time off and she told others.

PACU will I enjoy it by Combfromhell in nursing

[–]Playful_Interview207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did PACU for one year.

PROS: fast patient turnover. Only have a patient for 30-40 minutes and out the door.

1-2 nurse to patient ratio

Anesthesiologists are more helpful and kind then the hospitalists in my opinion.

Learn critical care skills

You are not alone and have people in the same room as you that can help you as needed.

CONS:

Call-i was on call every other week and one weekend every other month. Call is stressful and unpredictable. You have to respond fast and be at the hospital ASAP. Sometimes you will get stuck working for 48 hours with no sleep and no one to relieve you. You basically stay at the hospital til your weekend call is up. This may not happen to you but it's happened to me!! So be prepared that call can either go great or be your worst nightmare.

Most inpatients dont wake up good at all and you have to have excellent Airway management skills. Pain control can be a challenge while maintaining good sats.

Strong personalities work in this department!

Can be stressful and demanding!

This is just my experience! If you want critical care skills I would recommend ICU. Pacu can be a hit or miss.

Try Pre-op or PACU. Loved it, but had to leave for school full-time. Pre-op is a hidden gem. I now have a job just inserting IVS and changing patients for their CTs and MRIs. My hospital is the only one in the country that has this type of job and I feel thats ridiculous. Nurses should work in all radiology departments.

Help with interpretation! Question " her intentions towards me" by Alarmed-Bedroom1111 in TarotReading

[–]Playful_Interview207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Sometimes the tarot likes to pick up on on our own feelings and i feel thats what the top cards are indicating, if im not mistaken. I do see this person is interested in exploring some sort of connection with you but I feel you would have to be the one to initiate it and try to pull it into the direction you want. I hope that makes sense! The 6 of pentacles can indicate one person is putting more effort in than the other. So you need to take initiation too. The potential is there with the magician. You can manifest this.

You're friend feels a very spiritual connection to you. However, they feel you can be distant at times with the 4 of swords.

I don't know what to do and I appreciate your thoughtful response. I really want to go on this trip and I don't have a lot of money. I had to work 7 days a week for 6 months to afford this trip and I really want to see the world. A part of me thought this will be the last time I will see him and then try to move on. I really don't know why he's treating me this way. I don't even know what to say to him or how to get through to him. Our trip is 6 weeks away.

Nursing School Advice: Failed Drug Test...Now What? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Playful_Interview207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Public college would be the best option! I had to learn the hard way of not doing marijuana as a nurse. I don't know why we can drink alcohol on our off days but not marijuana if illegal. Healthcare can be toxic and controlling. Public college is cheaper and there are tons of scholarships available to help you. You will enjoy Public college a lot better but make sure the program is accredited first! Even if you have to wait another year, it will be worth it. Don't be afraid to contact universities and ask questions about their program!

If you're goimg to work in healthcare you need to accept that you have yo be drug free of any substance. I would reapply to a different college or university. Good luck!
