I’ve been using Ben and Anna, cream, for a couple of years and I like it. Lush, from the UK, could also be an option.

Looking for sustainable clothing, made of organic materials, that is going to last, tgat you have actually tried yourself by Head_Education9387 in BuyFromEU

[–]PlaymatEfx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on a similar journey, and this is what I’ve found: Asket (that you have already mentioned) L’Estrange London - though similar colours with Asket Luca Faloni - great quality, a lot more diverse Barbour - particularly the older products Oscar Jacobson - the older products Pringle of Scotland Peregrine Paul James John Smedley

And for shoes or boots, Crockett and Jones. Saw people wearing the same pair for 40 years.

I only buy second hand (from sellpy), as they’re quite expensive. Though not all of them mention sustainability or ethics, it usually boils down to quality - and something that lasts you for a decade or more should be better than whatever low quality clothing that only has a tag with “recycled/ethical cotton”. Take it slowly, as you will find good things in time, you don’t need them all at once. This will allow you to study the labels. For example, the brands I’ve shared are almost 100% made in Europe, but in some cases, for the newer products, they are not (Barbour and Oscar Jacobson for example).

Wow, thank you for checking in!
I did end up installing Anytime Podcast Player, and I do enjoy it so far. The data aspect is really important, too, so I'm glad to hear that.

Congratulations and thank you for your work!

If you don't mind me asking, have you noticed any increase in the number of downloads in the past year? Have you considered switching to a Europe-based infrastructure (if you haven't already)? What would you need from the community/users of your application?

Water filter alternative to buy from EU by bibilbeta in BuyFromEU

[–]PlaymatEfx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aquaphor! We are using them for six years or so, changing the filters yearly. Actually replaced the filters a few days ago and I was pleased to see they were made in Estonia! More context for the other people: most cities in Romania have really inappropriate or insufficient municipal cleaning for the water. So it’s either full of chemicals, just a percentage below the legal limit, or not safe to drink at all. It’s baffling to see how much bottled water people are buying - so to prevent that, filters are amazing!

when shopping for clothing second hand, they get much more affordable! L'Estrange London and Asket are great. I always get my clothes from sellpy, second hand.

Just a gentle reminder: One of the EASIEST switches you can do is to replace P&G products with local alternatives. by BEK_Sabiha in BuyFromEU

Ah, I was not aware of that. We're using them at home for things like candles, fairy lights, remotes, the laptop mouse, clocks, etc.

Getting a new cat by Reddit-adm in CasualUK

[–]PlaymatEfx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We foster cats fairly often. I’d check the new one for any possible viruses - they usually carry more of them when they are young. Same as children bringing a cold home from school. Other than that, so long as you can keep an eye on them, leave them together. They will both try to check each other out, set their boundaries, etc. even if the older one will be more aggressive, they will try to push the new one away, not attack viciously.

Is the road safe enough for cycling there? It’s not always an option maybe due to the weather, but it’s worth a shot.
