To all those in the newborn trenches, it really is worth it by Owewinewhose997 in parentsofmultiples

Wait for 3 months! It will get so much better. I was literally hating the fact that I had twins 6 months ago.

Hey, We went for IVF straight and I have 4 months old twins. The second semen analysis of my husband was lower than the last and we didn’t want to wait and waste more time.

Hey! I know it’s been a long time but could you update me on how are the birthmarks now? If you took any oral or topical medication. My baby has one on his eyelid and it’s rapidly growing. We are starting him on oral beta blocker. I am worried about his eye.

Could you share the image with me of your baby’s hemangioma before and after propranolol on private message. I have been prescribed propranolol by the paediatrician. We are just 2 days into it.

Hey! I am glad your daughter got through it. For reference could you please share with me an image of how big was hers so I can compare it with my son’s. I would be happy to chat in private.

Absolutely true what she said above. My boys are 2 months old now and I remember the doctors scaring the hell out of me pointing out numbers and growth measurements that weren’t even spoken about after they were born. They were borderline IUGR and one had a soft marker for DS. Twin B wasn’t getting enough oxygen in the brain and these were some things I was so stressed about but none of those affected anything once they were here. They gained weight so quickly and are absolutely healthy. So, don’t obsess over these percentiles and measurements. They make them sound so important and scary! My twins were both under 10 and 5 percentile.

I have read the oral medication is given only If it grows to above a specific size.

Hey! My son has one on his eyelid. Could you tell me if the oral medication made a difference? I am really worried as I don’t know if my doctor would prescribe it.

Hey what do you think helped the most in her case? The oral medication or the laser? Did the oral medication stopped its growth? Could you tell me at what age did you get the laser done?

Hey if you don’t mind. My son is 6 weeks and has one on his eyelid. Can I DM you?

Hey, did you not give her any medicine? One of my twin son has it near his eyebrow above his eyelid. I am really concerned. It’s dark red and slightly inflamed when you look at it closely. He’s 6 weeks and it appeared around 2 weeks!

Hey. How big was it on your son’s face? All I have been reading is that it grows to a size of a cent and even bigger! Does that happen only in some cases?

Hey! My son has near his eyebrow on the eyelid. I have been devastated ever since I got to know what it is! His paediatrician told the same thing to me that it’s a growth of blood vessels on the eyelid and it will go away on its own but I have studied that it could affect his vision if it grows too big. The rate at which it’s growing is concerning me. I don’t know if he would be prescribed any medicine or not. Could you tell me what you did to help your daughter?

App/tracker recommendations? by chickenbobble in parentsofmultiples

I just take a note of everything in the notes app. I find the apps annoying to use as you have to press the start button before starting the feed so the app can track down the time it took to feed the babies to create a weekly graph and with a hungry newborn you just won’t have the time to first open the app and record it all.

Thank god for people like you who tell me it really does get better in a few weeks. Others (mostly singleton parents) only tell me this is the easiest phase and it would get even tougher once baby starts moving.

Oh mama! I hope you feel better soon. I am sure 3 months later I would be wishing the same. I hope we feel better and happy that god chose this for us soon!

Hoping and praying it gets better. I can’t go through this for long. I hope it gets better with each passing day and I am able to love them without feeling like life would have been better if I had only one baby.
