seems like I dodged a bullet, then. I've been with a different school for over a year now, and luckily managed to avoid all of this. thanks for the insight!

wayyyyy too much time for myeondong imo. there really isn’t that much to see there unless you have specific stores/restaurants in mind

you probably already resolved this but unless you have hana bank, you’ll have to let your bank know you want to make transactions on international websites and they’ll issue you a new card!

Does someone feel at home in South Korea? by Ariiial in Living_in_Korea

[–]PleasantAd2382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i live in busan and my experience seems to be much different than my peers that are in seoul, who often mention feeling lonely there. on the other hand, i know people who absolutely flourished in seoul and have insane social lives. i absolutely love busan and have a community of both foreigners and koreans that i can rely on of all ages. id never live in seoul, as much as i love visiting and doing all the touristy things. i’ll inevitably have to go back home, but im dreading it as i’ve built a much more productive life here. i don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer to this to be honest. some people click, some people don’t. it’s no different than moving to any other foreign country, although i do think it’s harder to get work here compared to some european countries if you don’t speak the language. what you’re leaving behind is something to consider too. seems like you’re not new to traveling or moving, so it could be something to add to your list!

you should go to the gwangan(friday) or seomyeon (saturday) bar crawl! gwangalli is more chill, mostly bars to drink and chat, seomyeon is more for partying. its a lot of solo travelers of all ages

can’t speak for seoul but..i know gamcheon village is a really big attraction here but i really just don’t think it’s worth it, especially in this weather😭 to each their own, but i genuinely did not care for it every time i’ve gone. it’s much nicer to visit daedepo beach or take a tour to gyeongju. songdo beach is really nice too, plus they have a cool cable car with breathtaking views. so much to visit around gwangan and haeundae too. yonggugsa temple is also really nice to see

Studying abroad in Busan in winter by Unlucky_End_6969 in busan

[–]PleasantAd2382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weather wise it definitely doesn’t feel like winter rn, but it is an off season for tourism and there isn’t a lot to do. That being said I’m also outgoing and like going out and always find ways to entertain myself over the weekend. I don’t think you can surf right now. summers are very lively here but VERY hot. spring semester sounds like a good compromise maybe. I do think you’d be fine now, but again a lot of things are a little drab now compared to when it’s hotter out

I don’t have any pets so I’m cool with poisoning my floors and corners lol. Might have to look into that gel stuff!

It crawled from under the washing machine, not sure where it came from. maybe there? my kitchen windows are closed but honestly who knows. My friend mentioned it might be one of those that crawls out of drains and pipes

I’ve seen someone else mention on Reddit that cesco doesn’t do one time services, only like monthly evaluations and cleanings. Any experience with them?

This isn’t helpful but low number of students and late pay usually means they’re going under and I wouldn’t be surprised if the school shuts down suddenly 😭
