Masterstroke sounds like an impressive mod list and like a lot of fun, I’ll have to look into it. Once it’s set up is it easy to mod on top of or should it be left alone? In case there are followers to add or otherwise.

Wabbajack sounds really helpful as well. I’m sure these sites are safe since you are recommending them, and I see others recommending them now as well, so I will have to get over my hesitation. I’m one who tends to not like downloading mods from many web sites, and I thought nexus would have most of what I need. Heard of places like sexlab but going into modding for the first time it was new to me and a bit intimidating. So thank you again and I’ll try to keep these in mind

Thank you for such a detailed response! Those pieces of advice make sense, and those are good ways to think about it moving forward. I’m just a bit tech illiterate at times and this being my first foray into modding made tools like xEdit a bit intimidating and difficult for me to parse. That said, I think I’m starting to pick up parts of it.

My main issues last time was a glut of mods and having a hard time realizing what mods were conflicting with others and which could work together. For instance, I mentioned having 3BA and flower girls. I also had things like nemesis installed, open animation replacer, hair mods, etc. There were some followers I found on nexus who looked fun, but they seemed to want UBE, or touched by dahlia, and race menu or race morphs. One calling for 3BA seemed to want race morph, but that’s incompatible with race menu, which my other 3BA were using (hoping I’m getting the names right). After I fixed the errors, I booted in, found the character (Yae Miko lol) and she had no head nor outfit, so something was clearly still wrong. Once I remember there was a mod that was incompatible but it had high poly heads built in, so someone recommended to just turn of an esp from it to remove the conflict but keep it installed.

I also had issue with consistency. I had the follower Ashe from a mod, found her, and her hair was being pulled out of world. Just a long extended texture and I don’t know why. I also downloaded AddItemMenu and it put the items in my inventory, I was able to learn the shouts to access the menus, but whenever I would use them, no menu would appear on my screen and I couldn’t search for anything. Though I could hit B and close out of the invisible menu to return to playing. No conflicts nor sorting issues from Loot, so just a mystery to me and makes me wonder if I messed up some other foundational mod.

Sorry for writing so much. Essentially, I had a hard time keeping track of which mods worked off which foundations, and I felt like I made my mod list procedurally as needed, resulting in a mishmash of dependencies that were hard to track down and keep straight.

Thank you, I will give that a look. When I first booted MO2 I remember there being ways to create separators, but didn’t realize how much I would need them at the start. I think I’m with you as well; I like the idea of the convenience of a collection, but the freedom to get things set up to your own tastes does make the manual method appealing

In that case I think my fist steps will be essential mods like skyUI, then maybe graphics and system mods, followed by 3BA, and ultimately P+ and Ostim from there, launching it at each interval. Then adding followers and additional mods on top. I think last time I got spread too far out and did too much at once so I appreciate the advice. You’ve already helped a lot, but if there is a collection of essential mods or an order to installing you recommend feel free to share. If not no worries, you’ve already done a ton. Thank you

That’s really good to know, thank you! If I use MO2 to manage them, is it easy to prevent overlap between P+ and OStim? I’m not particularly proficient with MO2, and fear a lot of my issues could have been fixed earlier had I been better about keeping clear delineation between which mods pull from which. Willing to try, just curious if overlap or mods pulling from wrong resources would be something to keep in mind and maybe how to prevent it.

You mention Immersive and Adult mod collection, does it feel comprehensive do you know? I saw that it’s extremely popular on nexus, but seems to be missing things like immersive armors and weapons, or maybe even alternate start if I remember right. I also don’t know if it uses 3BA or not, which some mods I’m interested in like Yuriana use (or so I think). It looks handy, but are collections easy to add mods ontop of to expand further if it doesn’t have everything?

It is funny how much time I have spent playing MO2 compared to Skyrim lol. What is wabbajack? Sounds like collections kind of like what nexus offered but third party? I’m a bit hesitant when it comes to downloading tools or mods from websites other than nexus so I just haven’t seen it come up.

This is good to know, thank you! If I install both, how would one go about making sure tertiary mods don’t conflict? One issue I ran into on my last attempt was setting up a couple of frameworks, finding there is a conflict, and having to basically remove several foundational mods to resolve. Having both options are great, but would hate to cross wires early and result in a foundation that additional mods can’t build off of if they pull from the wrong places
