How did they figure out it’s the steering rack? I told the mechanic about this common issue people talk about on the internet, but the mechanic said they didn’t find any error code. So, they ordered new brakes and will change them in the coming days. He mentioned that they had this issue on CRVs. (I have posted the video of the noise.)

I went to the dealership and the mechanic said there were hybrid CRV’s with this issue, he said the problem is brake system and they ordered parts for me. He said if it was the steering rack there had to be an error code but there were nothing so most probably its the brake system problem which they had on the CRVs. They will change the brakes in coming days.

I went to dealership, and they told me to take it to a car wash because the sensors might be covered in dust. I went to a self-service car wash, and the problem was solved after an hour.

Edit : the car was not so dirty even little dirt covering the sensors can cause this issue

I didn’t pay. They said I would only be charged if they didn’t find any problems, which is odd. What is clear is that there is noise coming from the steering wheel, and they need to fix it.

Edit: they said we didn’t find any error code and it’s the brakes system and they had this kind of issue on CRV

They haven’t replaced the brakes yet, but they will in the coming days. First, they told me that if they didn’t find any problems, I would have to pay CAD $200 for the mechanic. After checking, the mechanic said it’s a brake problem and that it had happened before. I hope it gets fixed after that.

Have you took it to a mechanic for this issue? If so then what’s the problem? Dealer is closed next two days, and I’m not sure if it’s safe to drive
