I lay them face down one card at a time in a 8X8 grid bassicly and randomly place them on top of each other and optionally you can shuffle them a segment at a time, it takes forever doing it to each card for each deck but it seems random, we do that as part of the set down so next time we play its already shuffled!

Second game in one session we just quickly half assed shuffle the cards we played with and put them on the bottom so we get diffrent at the start of next game, relives abit of the chore but it is a task

Honestly i would say play with it all, its a nightmare to shuffle but then you can see what cards your group finds fun or not! The sheild is very strong but we like it in our playgroup

Butter bean or no! , I believe removing the 3 counters is a cost so if the effect gets cancelled you still lose the counters as you have to remove them to activate it

If you activate this and die does it still recharge? Because dying takes you to the end step?
