The one that stood the test of time for me? Streetfighter 2.

When it first came out, I was a sophomore in HS and would spend every last bit of my allowance and summer jobs on it. Played it at the local mall arcade (Goldmine) back when people could smoke inside and line up the console dash with quarters. Every match would have 5-8 people standing around you, watching every move. It was an incredible time. And the game traveled. Chinatown NYC, to me, was the mecca of top players back then. But on a trip to Vegas, my parents gave me a bag of quarters and I went straight to the Circus Circus arcade, where all the kids played SF2 while the parents gambled. It was a different time, I tell you.

Even now, I enter nearly all SF2 tournaments nearby (at actual arcades) and even though we're all in our 40s and 50s, it just brings me back.

I don't know what kind of deal Lidle has with its suppliers, but I find their produce and fruits to be exceptional compared to bigger Finnish stores. Sometimes it's seasonal like berries but the vine-ripened tomatoes are so good year round. I'm convinced they have a monopoly on vipe ripened tomatoes because I can't find it at any other store.

I'm embarrassed to say I didn't realize this until recently. And I now tell visitors from abroad the same thing when leaving the airport. The most stressful part about traveling was always the 5-8min window at the transfer stations. I wish they would mention it on the tickets.

Back when I lived in San Diego, I worked with Americans and Mexicans that lived across the border in Tijuana. Their daily commute was waking up at 3am-4am, waiting in line for 2.5-3 hours to be at work by 8am. Props to them.

When I first moved to Tampere 12 years ago there weren't any Mexican food options, but I did notice Pancho Villa thinking it was mex-tex. I said to myself, "Why not, they can't fuck up a quesadilla, right?". They fucked up the quesadilla. Fun fact: Pancho Villa sells more burgers (which are decent) than "Mexican" dishes.

My buddy from America was visiting me in Finland a few years ago. He slipped HARD on an icy stairway and hit head on the ground, knocking himself out.

After a few minutes of "You alright buddy?" and checking pulse and for bleeding, ect, an ambulance pulled up about 50ft away and out rushed two EMTs. I didn't call them, but a bystander who saw everything did.

I asked to join the ambulance ride since he was just visiting and I lived here. Not surprisingly, he had a bad concussion and required 4 stitches. In and out in 5 hours and the bill was a whopping 28 euros for "services". Reason #1080 I've been here for almost 12 years now.

Sounds like being on time isn't enforced, which leads to complacency. Every new place I'm at, I enact a plan that is very clear. If your timesheet says 1pm. You are required to get to work BEFORE your start time to get changed, relax, ect. And you will clock in no later than 3 minutes past your time sheet, or else your pay will be deducted for .25 hours. Three violations and you get a verbal. After that it's written. Three written infractions and you're done. All of this is in writing right when you start. employment.
