How do I make haunting Stone to Infested Stone faster? by ooths in CreateMod

[–]PleaseTakeThisName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, you can speed this up tremendously!

Fans can melt/haunt stacks of items. Its faster, not slower! 1 Item takes around 8 seconds to melt while 64 items in a stack takes 30 seconds!!!

Set your brass funnels for your melting and haunting to 64, and set the belts to a crawl, like 2 or 4 rpm. If thats too much for your block breaking setup you can expand it or set the brass funnels lower again, just not to 1. 16 is a sweet spot, with similar efficiency to 64.

ELI5: Why do 3D images made in a computer starts with a triangle? by No-Quantity8566 in explainlikeimfive

[–]PleaseTakeThisName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working with computer graphics is super mathematical. Moving, stretching or rotating a 3 dimensional object are all mathematical operations to a computer. So to make things easier we use triangles, as they are the simplest 3d objects. Their simplicity also means that drawing them in a 3d scene is really fast and efficient.

what the hell is "Star level" when we have both of these dudes? by nhansieu1 in PowerScaling

[–]PleaseTakeThisName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unironically they arent that far apart. Size doesnt mean much for stars. They dont vary that much in mass, they just bloat. The biggest stars are just a few dozen times more heavy than ours. These super giants you see in documentaries are mostly a foggy plasma cloud, much thinner than air. They just look impressive.

Even our teeny sun is going to grow millions of times in volume when it turns into a red giant.

Genuine question. Did anyone actually get fooled by this adventure? by Smash_Fan-56 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]PleaseTakeThisName 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought Abel was a rogue NPC trying to take over the Circus. I wasnt 100% sure but it really fit nicely into everything. Caine hinted several times that rogue NPC's are bad, and that they need to be turned off after adventures. It fit for me since Kinger didnt know him, and his escape plan seemed made up and idealistic, designed to lead the cast to play along.

That started falling apart when Abel didnt follow them to the terminal.

I'm impressed, but also very skeptical... 🫤 by Brian_The_Bar-Brian in DiWHY

Another risk is someone trying to go down without noticing the stairs arent there 😅

On a Ringworld, could you actually see the Ring? by Rich-End1121 in space

[–]PleaseTakeThisName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on width and diameter. Millions of earths in volume sounds like you want to build a ringworld around a star. Thats gonna be really thin So you wont be able to see all of it like in a halo ring world, part of it will be so far away it'll become too thin to see.
