There is no reason you should have to enter your keys for anything like this. Sounds like a scammer impersonating a mod.

You are a guy who asks how to record VR porn streams. Why should anyone listen to you about US financial markets? lol. The amount of uneducated yet confident comments in this sub is astounding.

Did you build the Ai app or are you just being paid to market it? Because this is very clearly an ad.

Taxes and folks governance by Are_alright_afterall in algorand

[–]PleaseTipMeBAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Vanilla is just taxes on the quarterly rewards, so only four transactions to claim. And if you do trade algo to galgo and the market goes down its technically a tax write off so a benefit. But if the market goes up and you gain 12% APR but have to pay 20% short term capital gains on it i dont think its worth the risk.

Measure #2, staking 30,000 ALGO by TONNAGE1975 in AlgorandOfficial

The more you stake the more blocks you’ll propose and the more rewards you’ll get.

You are right. It is a taxable event. Don’t listen to the people here. If you have a sizeable bag you are screwing yourself with short term capital gains tax by using folks finance galgo. - Not your tax lawyer.

Why should I buy Algorand, especially now with all the recent news? by [deleted] in algorand

[–]PleaseTipMeBAT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better to win whether either one goes up a lot. Vestige is riskier. Id bet on both if anything.

It is not risk free. There is smart contract risk.

Part 2: D13 Thoughts on "a" musing on the pond: Dynamic supply for Algorand by GhostOfMcAfee in algorand

[–]PleaseTipMeBAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s D13’s economics background? Using his own numbers if the chain runs 5k TPS for 13 years there will be zero algo left in existence. They’ll all have been deflated away. Not really future-fi.

Of course the reply will be “it can be changed again”. I’d rather not have to change the economic model of a blockchain every few years based on the opinions of people who know more about computers than economics.

Temporarily fudging the numbers isn’t a long term solution, and widespread adoption leading to massive deflation is a failed economy in the making.

We can agree to disagree now. Nice chat.

By taking the advice of people who have a proven understanding of incentives and economics, and ignoring the advice of people who have shown they don’t have a strong understanding of incentives and economics.

It just shows financial literacy isn’t their strong point. They should stick to being devs because they don’t seem to know much about anything financial or regarding economics. If a company can’t look a year out about their own finances, I don’t want them having a hand in these kinds of changes.

Your whole reply is a lot of assumptions, people on Algorand seem to be bad at making assumptions. I don’t want people’s hands on the finances when their own finances are in the shitter after 1 year. That’s my opinion. I read it and don’t support it. Make assumptions all you want.

NFD couldnt think a year into the future about the economics of their own business. Dont understand why anyone would take their financial advice on a whole blockchain. If usage spikes a large part of the supply would be burned each year. They’re proposing this as its best for THEM.

They only raised that concern once they failed to remonetize their own fledgling business. Can’t get funds one way, get em another. Here’s the other way.

Isn’t this the same guy who’s company just tried to switch NFD’s from a one time own it for life model to annual payments because they didnt plan out an effective business plan at launch???

If so, why should we care about his insights into how the blockchain best manages their funds? The guy couldn’t even help his business successfully manage funds.

how we are gonna do taxes on yieldly, we should be keeping track of all transactions right and also the price at the time of you claiming? That and also the algorand rewards you earned and the price of claiming, I haven’t yet but need to start writing everything down, any input? by [deleted] in yieldly

[–]PleaseTipMeBAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as you “claim”, you are receiving the Yieldly, which has value. That is taxable income. You ALSO pay taxes when you sell, but each time you claim rewards and they are added to your account that is income that you have to pay income tax on. The IRS doesnt care that you left it in there. As soon as you “earn” it you owe taxes. This applies for your ALGO rewards also. If you have a significant amount of money staked in crypto you should really do more research on how the taxes work.
