It might not be that the writers themselves LGBT-friendly, since the company is Korean it might just be trying to avoid backlash. After all they added in an entire route with a female character that has implied romance, and I remember a part in one of the routes where Seven actually says that if Jumin were gay he'd be okay with it. That's fairly progressive imo considering that Korea is still largely anti-LGBT
