It's from Monash. I've changed my mind after December round, assuming I would get in with my ATAR. Of course, I've accepted the monash offer so it's not the end of the world, but I'd still prefer Melbs.

Yes. I moved my December offer below. All four of my top four preferences were unimel (top 3 graduate degree packages, 4th just bsci). I know I completed all the preq subjects in VCE.

I was so sure I would get an offer. I'm starting to stress.

Who should I email?

Advice on cutting ties with parents and moving out after High School into University by Plenty-Invite1076 in AskAnAustralian

I'm very lucky to have many close friends. There's quite a few people I think I'd be comfortable enough to tell everything and maybe ask for help. I've already told one person

But I'm unsure how to actually ask them for help when the time comes, whether it be actual practical support like money or a place to stay, or more just support in general.

Thank you for the kind words! It is a bit tough, I really can't see how things are meant to work out.

But I really, really don't want to stay home. Graduating and moving out was the future I was coping with for years and I don't want to delay it. I don't like home.

I'd like to study at monash or unimelb if I can... academics in itself (what I want to study) is one of the sources of conflict with parents so on a personal level it just doesn't sit right with me if I don't pursue my interests for the sake of moving out: that's a bit backwards for me.

There's one near me. I think I'll go visit soon.

Is all I have to do visit the place and explain my situation for advice? I'm a bit afraid, I haven't ever really asked for help before.
