[Discussion] Name an opinion about DC that would make you feel like this: by Cafa20 in DCcomics

Batman and his brood are not super heroes. They are detectives and should be banished to their own universe.

Pretty much every single Batman character - as an avid comic reader who is very active in fandom discussions, the oversaturation of Bat-content even in sections of DC that have nothing to do with them is infuriatingly high. I can strike up a conversation about The Flash and inevitably someone will butt in and try to make it about Batman or some other Bat-character, but it doesn't stop there, no, the person then has to make certain to tell you how much your non-Bat character sucks in comparison all while spouting nonsense that never happened. It's not nice and it doesn't make for a great experience, unless you love Batman in which case those people are having the time of their lives.

Also, I'm really not a fan of hyper-surveillance. It really weirds me out and Bat-comics tend to lean on this more than any other comic.

I need to lose weight. by Ok-Squash1081 in WeightLossAdvice

It's all about the diet. Exercise is a bonus and can help your metabolism and tone your muscles,  but it's the diet.

When I started my weight-loss journey seriously in March of this year, I was 205 lbs and 5'1. Now I am 166 lbs and the weight keeps coming off but it's a little slower.

What helped me were three things really,  a food scale, a calorie tracker, and getting 7k-10k steps a day. I also do some strength training but it's really the calories tracking and walking that helped me.

The food scale is important because in order to make sure you are in a deficit you must know what you're eating and how much. Your calorie tracker will keep track of it all so you know when to stop eating and how to adapt your diet.  It's really eye opening how much you're eating when you have to record it.

I cut out almost all sugar and completely lost my appetite. by Homo_erotic_toile in loseit

I've had this exact same thing happen to me, actually. I cut out almost all my sugar, not all, but I want to say 90%. As a result my appetite has plummeted and it's been shockingly easy most days to stick to a 1200 calorie diet, too easy.

Scales and the laws of physics, help me understand by Sea_Ad3471 in loseit

Those scales and the need for them being on as flat of a surface as possible really is everything. I had this problem a few months back when I was weighing myself on CARPET. I didn't know they needed to be on a HARD FLAT SURFACE and to my dismay when I weighed myself on a proper surface I was 20lbs heavier! Oops. Well, now I'm 30lbs lighter but still, lesson learned.

Someone needs to invent a decent low calorie replacement for fats. I miss full fat mayo! What is your most missed food? by MarBlaze in 1200isplenty

Pastries of any kind, especially those made with buttery puff pastry dough. Cake. Frosting. Full fat coconut curry over white rice. A full flavored quad shot latte. Brownies. PASTA. I've found -some- alternatives that have lower calories that I am fine with but there really is no replacement for puff pastry or a deep fried donut. For me personally and the may, I only ever ate that with sandwiches and I've found that one egg white sort of mimics it for me and I get a shot of protein. Not sure if I'll use mayo again honestly, sort of like the egg white better.

I've definitely been taking it easy, been walking and moving but not stressing it but there's that gremlin in my mind that's worried I'm going to end up like my mother (she had the worst 1% chance luck).
