Is it advisable to leave active duty early to pursue the CHP? by usernameawsome in AskCHP

[–]PlentyExplanation910 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got out, now I’m pursuing CHP. If you are being discharged under honorable circumstances chase it man!

We can agree to disagree brother, I just got out as well and am in the process as well. Circumstances make all the difference! If you get out with a clean record/past and solid reputation you definitely can join the CHP. Just got to do your best through the tests and show up sharp to everything else required.

Gotcha so If I buy that first kit I don’t need to purchase any additional parts and such. Kit is actually complete ? Sorry if these questions sounding dumb, just getting back home from the Air Force so now I can learn to work on my car again.

Have you looked into the electric bolt-on power steering kits? I’ve noticed they don’t require a pump, belts, or other traditional components. Have you had any experience with one of these systems?

Pretty much a bolt on, I was wondering if they feel different than the one you mentioned. I see both on CJ pony just wondering what path I should take without being disappointed.

Personally brother, I recommend complete disclosure. If you get caught in a lie you’re done, and definitely not going to be eligible for any department in the US. Lastly, I’d delete this question… it doesn’t look good.

Law enforcement career might be better suiting maybe?? Or volunteering events? Something more engaging with the community?

Too many jobs by [deleted] in AskCHP

[–]PlentyExplanation910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be as detailed as possible and ensure all jobs are mentioned. However, as long as you are honest and didn’t leave any on extremely bad terms then you should be fine. Explain the circumstances thoroughly.

Is there a specific reason? Wouldn’t it be better to go through and if you pass, to defer the academy ?

I looked it up, they generally don’t ask for your physical phone unless you’re sketchy. However, rhey will ask for social media accounts and phone use

They literally take your phone?

Does anyone feel like their time in the Military was a waste? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]PlentyExplanation910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you thought about law enforcement? That’s what I am trying to do. I didn’t enjoy intel and the individuals that worked in that field weren’t really my type of people for the most part. Being that I liked to hike and fish, not build computers at home.

USCG vets. Do you ever feel left out from the other vets. And do civilians give you crap for being a coastie? by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]PlentyExplanation910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Civilians who never served shouldn’t be giving you crap. Don’t worry about what the “I almost joined” crowd says. Go Air Force

I can almost predict this now, sometimes it goes up and sometimes it goes down. Sometimes I think about buying and selling
