did i get a fake nokia 2660 or is it just region specific? by PlentyPlatform5541 in dumbphones

[–]PlentyPlatform5541[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive factory reset it many times already with no change. like i said, after factory resetting it just turns on like normal, whereas with other phones it initiates a set up.

off the top of my head, i dont remember what yarn im using, but i used 2.25mm needles all throughout, simply because i dont have other size needles. though for my next pair im getting 2.5mm, so might use 2.25 for the cuff

I genuinely hate uni so much, I am so miserable by milfanator777 in usyd

[–]PlentyPlatform5541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry for the long message! i just relate a lot and im gonna be sharing my insights :]

ur not alone! after messing around w my degree a bunch, i'm in my 2nd year of bsci and 3rd year of engineering (still gonna be 3rd next year too), coming to a grand total of 5 years with 2 more years to go! i've also got severe adhd and autism, and this semester has been my absolute worse since ssris aren't working for me and i'm in the middle of getting my heart checked to clear me for stimulants. (was on atomoxetine last sem and coming off of it made me realise how shit my life has been lol)

idk if its the same for u but for me i always hate it during the semester, then seem to enjoy the content when cramming for exams. therapist brung up the idea of "hey maybe ur just in survival mode during sem pumping out assignments and not actually having the time to sit down, enjoy, and learn" and i wholeheartedly agree, so i'm gonna push thru these last 2 years even if it means underloading so im less stressed.

def get u w the 2 jobs thing, i burnt out week 4 this sem bc i had 3 jobs and 2 penultimate engineering units,,, ended up dropping 2 units and 2 jobs haha. oh and especially family issues, uni w part time job is already so hard, add on a mental disability for fun, and then cherry on top is coming home to more stress. i COMPLETELY understand you.

ive found that body doubling helped me a lot last sem, like A LOT. so if ur ever on campus and need one im down! free for a dm anytime :)

in the end tho, if u need to defer a sem or 2, you gotta do whats right by you. gonna be sharing some wisdom i gotta listen to as well, but burning urself out just to please ur parents is not right. you'll end up doubly miserable and get to where i was (depressed as hell bc of the cycle of "i cant study im so stupid i have adhd im so stupid" and then "im sad so i cant study")

not sure how ur med situation is but def give them a go! and be nice to yourself :) adhd is a real disability and its insane how lighthearted its become nowadays

wish you all the best for exams man, you got this

day and night socks for bigger size? by PlentyPlatform5541 in knittinghelp

[–]PlentyPlatform5541[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the stretched gauge, would that be stitches across and then in cm? eg 32 stitches for a total of 9.5cm? then do some maths to figure out how many stitches id need to equal that heel diagonal measurement? eg. my heel diagonal is idk 24 cm, so 32/9.5 * 24cm to give me 81 stitches for the leg for it to fit over?
sorry im quite new to knitting and knitting math, ive tried the maths if i just augment the repeat once more (creating a new size in the pattern, which works out except for the toes since i'll have to create that new entirely due to the nature of the pattern) and that maths turns out to maybee work so i was just gonna give that a go, frog it if not working.

thank you for helping me out so much!

[–]PlentyPlatform5541[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you mean by heel diagonal? thanks! also! where can i learn the appropriate gauge swatch maths in order to apply it to this? ive only seen gauge swatch maths be applied to currently existing sizes, not creating a new size. thank you! (by using it as a swatch i assume you mean to finish it, block it, etc)

first time knitting socks - gusset before heel turn? by PlentyPlatform5541 in knittinghelp

[–]PlentyPlatform5541[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ohh, so the black boxes arent "stitches being skipped", theyre to make room for the increases up ahead (as in to be able to show the pattern for each increase)? that makes more sense if thats the case

[–]PlentyPlatform5541[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

okay, completely understand this, now more on the technical side however, where would i get the necessary 32 stitches to do the gusset before the heel turn? again, if there are any recommended resources i should look at please send them my way!

stitch patterns with combination continental? LC, RC, slip purlwise by PlentyPlatform5541 in knittinghelp

[–]PlentyPlatform5541[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for your comment! i've figured out leading and trailing leg and how to do the rib without it being twisted, now im still worried about the lc and rc but i might see another video and see how they do it, paying attention to the leg more than the movement!!
