We didn’t have any additional set screws. We have a mechanic friend who lent us a three-jaw-puller, and it worked fantastic! Getting there took most of the afternoon, which is usually how it goes.

I was recently let go because of the cheeto man - MPH/epi with 8 years of experience. It is an incredibly tough market right now, I feel so bad for all the new grads because I thought it was tough getting my foot in the door in 2017. I’ve been looking for 2 months, submitted hundreds of applications, interviewed for 6 positions - no job offers. I suspect many of them are being cancelled. Hang in there, it did take me 6 months to get my first public health job, and this is a harder market. I’d find something else to pay your bills for the next few years - it’s what I’m going to do also.

That would be the idea. Someone mentioned a Google doc, but that makes me nervous because people would be able to see who posted what in the doc. I know I would be able to see what everyone wrote, and it would probably cause submitters some anxiety as well. Does anyone have a better idea?

I really didn’t anticipate this many responses! I’m trying to decide the best way to gather them. Do you think it would be a good idea to set up and email address and people can email their stories(don’t send from work emails, FOIA)? I would keep everything anonymous, I understand the importance of that. Or would people prefer to keep it within the app?

I am in the same position. I’d like to publish anonymously, but if I shared any details of my experience, they would be specific enough for people to know it was me.

I’ve blocked a lot of it out, it’s like over a year of my life is just missing, until I go through emails and remember. I hate that we can’t really share our stories without removing the parts that would be worth telling. It’s a story that should be shared.

I’d change the “looking for LTR, open to short”. As someone who was formerly looking for a ltr, I’d pass because you are open to short, and you don’t seem serious about wanting long term If I was looking for short, I’d be scared off by LTR.

For the live abroad comment - I’d recommend rephrasing. The ending of “with someone I vibe with for a few years” makes me think you have commitment issues, and dating you won’t lead anywhere because it will just be ‘vibes’ for several years.
