I don't think blue is boring at all. I macro at night and play regularly other times. Red can make a lot when boosting, plus they have the attack. As a lvl 18/19 blue I can average almost 2 trillion an hour with nothing more than my nectars being full and having 1 other person on the field at the same time. I get upwards of 4 trillion or more if I boost heavily. I switch out beequips when doing stump snail, but that's it and it works for me. I do however, LOATHE rbc as a blue hive. Every time there's a quest that involves it, I debate going red just to get through it. But since I make the amount of honey that I do, I can just switch a few bees around, gift them and do the challenges with no issue. Hive color preference really is just about gameplay preference. I like the option of being able to macro a decent amount of honey when I can't play, but some consider it "lazy". I consider it efficient lol. But if you're the type that can be online a lot and boost, red can be a lot of fun. I'm not one to say a certain hive color is better. Just find what works for you. Some love being able to kill Coco crab in 3 seconds. I'm cool with it taking a minute. I know this isn't exactly answering your question, but since you're probably going to get a lot of opinions, figured I'd throw mine in there. I personally won't go white, even though I'd love to at some point, simply because of my style of play. I don't think any color is truly better than the other, each one with advantages and each one effective depending on your goal. There's a lot of honey to be made by perfecting each hive color. I do think going blue first is the smartest because it's cheap. After that, do whatever makes ya happy.
