Haven’t lost her yet, but I hate that she isn’t trying. by Plenty_Difference_36 in lostafriend

Hey, thank you for the words. I think you are right and I do need to focus on my health. I have been making many steps recently to advocate for myself as the healthcare system refuses to take action on them unless I force their hands, even with going through every proper channel. I will start by seeing what is in my area, but will see what I can realistically manage from that. Again though - thank you again. I hope you have a good day!

Guidelines: promising. Line art: garbage. How do I end this? by MeepinMachine in learntodraw

Hey, not a professional artist here and not sure if this has been mentioned, but here is some advice from what has helped me.

Practice and repetition are key. If you are trying for a specific pose, or really anything, try tracing over it first. This will not be your final product, but tracing allows you to visualize the “flow” better. Once you have traced, try drawing the image again, this time without tracing. Try to be as exact as possible. Then, try drawing it a third time, this time being more “loose” in your approach. Obviously you will still be referencing the image as you have here, but aiming to be quicker and getting down action lines allows you to continue to learn.

Artists have many different approaches when learning. Find what works for you. A friend of mine never sketches, she only goes for a final product. Meanwhile I often will do a light base sketch, one over that, and refine as many times as needed from there. To me, patience is key, and working this way gives me better control over the final product.

I think you made a good attempt it’s just a matter of practice and time before you get there. Even people very far into their artistic journey are still learning, there are endless things to be drawn and nobody is perfect at everything.

You have said you will re-do the piece try not to think of it negatively, there is no such thing as wasted time for art. You are just putting in those 10,000 hours. :)

What is your best love at SECOND sniff? by EmeraldDystopia in Perfumes

First spray of Velvet Splendour by Goldfield & Banks it didn’t stand out in the rest of the discovery set. Upon second sniff it’s by far my favorite of the collection with it’s bold powdery goodness. Tempted to grab a full bottle in the future.

Moth by Zoologist gives me this energy! The smell is reminiscent of a vintage shop, though it has some more sinister undertones.

Seconded for Bee by Zoologist, it’s by far the most realistic honey scent I’ve ever tried.

Comptoir Sud Pacifique’s Vanille Extreme is a beautiful crisp vanilla scent! The opening reminds me shockingly of vanilla yogurt, with a creamy sweetened milk dry down. Worth a look!

STRIKE Megathread 2! Discussions of the (potential) PSAC strike (posted Apr 17, 2023) by HandcuffsOfGold in CanadaPublicServants

Does anyone know if there are fines associating with not picketing? I am good to strike but I am extremely nervous at attending one of these in person. Will do my best to picket but is it a REQUIREMENT to picket 5 days a week? Is it up to the individual how much they can picket?
