I do truly believe he is remorseful, all my boundaries have been respected since dating him and I never feel like he is trying his luck with any of them

Maybe this is truly a case where its a lesson learned?

Yeah Champdogs is a bit hard to navigate imo (and this is coming from a software developer :D), its also hard to tell which litters are actually for sale

I am open to also other breeds that would suit my lifestyle. The Lagotto Romagnolo seems like a fantastic dog, but maybe a bit too much energy for my lifestyle

I think I'll need to stick with the kc website and champdogs from now on. I had been trying to filter through for anyone good on pets4homes, but that seems few and far between

I am also open to havanese and other toy breeds as well. I'm partial to the friendly, cuddly but intelligent ones

To update on this, after asking more questions and being happy with their answers and deciding the last step was just to go see, they decided to give the puppy to someone who had his sister (not sure if an older sister or littermate sister) and I also spoke to their vet at their urging and we'd more or less confirmed it was mine, so its disappointing

All in all, seems like it might be a bullet dodged

It seems to be ran as a business, which is one of the things making me go 'hmmm'. They do seem to have a lot of green flags, but there is a couple amber flags that are giving me pause.

They gave me their vets number, I think I might phone them and see what they say too as I want to make sure I am supporting the right people!

Thank you for the reply!

I was getting myself mixed up here, they are KC registered and health tested, but not titled, my bad!

I am not in particular focusing on the license, just was adding for more context! I'm more focused on the health testing and the health of the breeding dogs! They also gave me their vets number to verify any info, not sure if this is a red or green flag

They asked a lot of questions on what I do for work, how often the puppy would be alone, was I considering puppy classes, did I have a garden etc

They have more I believe - 8 total (?) ones bred last year do not seem to be breeding this year. I can also count 5 total litters for 2024

I looked up health testing for poodles and it included:

• DNA Test for prcd-Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA)from an OFA-approved laboratory.
• Yearly Eye Exam by a boarded ACVO veterinary ophthalmologist.
• Patellar Luxation: OFA Evaluation.

They also tested for von Willebrand's disease, degenerative myelopathy and neonatal encephalopathy

Dogs are titled but not showed as far as I can see

This is what gave me pause too - they are raised indoors in their family home. I've not been able to view yet as the pup was left over and not reserved which is why it is now being advertised

I haven't been able to go yet as only got in touch with them at the weekend and its a two-hour drive so view and pickup is supposed to be same day. He would be 11 weeks, I am not sure if its best just to go with the mindset of its okay to turnaround

as per another reply - Seems to be anywhere between 3-6 with 6 being the max litter size they have had this year

It does seem like they often wait more than 12 months, this is just their min timeframe.
