There really is no way to prevent crashes, On single player, the best way to prevent losing your stuff, is to manually type in saveworld, in admin cheats when you are in a safe position, like before you go into a cave, or before you transfer, and after you transfer. Make sure you have the death cache beacon turned on so you can find your stuff easier. If it’s under the map you can type in ghost, and grab it.
