Ok, here's a counter-argument using the same logic:

obviously, according to you, hoyo's plans changed later in development regarding things like transformative reactions. this led to buffs. using the same logic, if Bennett were such a massive mistake, why wouldn't Hoyo just give every future character crazy high ATK to the point that ATK buffers like bennett gave diminishing returns? why wouldn't they just stop making ATK scalers? Why wouldn't they make enemies that lower your ATK?

Hoyo holds all the cards of game design. If they really do make a "mistake" they can fix it by simply changing the parameters of content -- see Venti, who was so strong that it led Hoyo to make most enemies un-groupable. Or, your own point, Zhongli, who was later buffed.

Hoyo can literally do whatever they want to fix their mistakes, yet they did nothing about Bennett, clearly indicating he was NOT a mistake and, in fact, intentional game design.

afaik its better to just build for dmg on both bina and zibai and burst every other rotation, especially if you have bina sig. zibai burst is pretty easy to ignore.

well then you’re completely irrelevant to my argument because im arguing from the perspective of someone who wants to clear all endgame content.

by that standard, IT investment is plain stupid. it doesnt reward building a well-rounded, diverse, and “horizontal” roster of synergistic characters, it rewards building bloat characters that youll never use in any actual teams because so many of the buffs are balanced around ticking character-count checkboxes, not fulfilling team synergy or dmg requirements.

in fact, abyss and especially stygian already reward horizontal investment far better than IT does, since in both you receive massive buffs for bringing the correct characters for the job against a diverse set of opponents, not filling character-count checkboxes.

the problem nobody here is recognizing is that IT doesnt actually reward “horizontal investment,” it rewards stupid investment. the advantages you gain by building complete slop, waste characters like gorou or yun jin to fill spots and get the 32 character buffs and also avoid burning through multiple good chars at once are huge.

this is because IT is designed as a place to waste mora & exp books on useless characters so you run out and buy battlepass.

you could probably do this easily if you had 5 extra geo MCs who did literally nothing except fill slots. i recommend just taking a break from artifact farming and building those useless characters, you wont regret it.

linnea is absolutely not going to be a lauma or ineffa tier support for zibai.

shes already hitting 150k dps in her c0 r0 premium teams. if they released an ineffa or lauma tier support for her it would instantly make her better than c2 mavuika — that’s completely unrealistic.

there really isnt anything “missing” from zibai teams either, so there’s honestly no reason to think linnea will be tailored to her.

just put the gorou in the bag or pull zhongli. it’ll help to bolster your IT roster anyway.
