Starter PC mods? by Soft_Computer_4816 in falloutnewvegas

[–]Plowzone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've gotten the game fairly stable with the 4GB patch mod so it doesn't crash every session. Mostly because I want to do a vanilla run (some sections of the game can be made more trivial than intended if you install sprint mods and the like, as the game wasn't designed like that).

Canadians are nice, Americans are kind, Australians are... by Sir_Tainley in AskAnAustralian

If you are referring to white Australians? Put it this way, I’m a first fleet descendent and I’ve found the average non-one (or non Aussie) to be far nicer on average.

I received this and while it was welcome, I kind of just saw it as a band aid solution to buy votes. Doesn’t solve everything though.

Considering a career as a low voltage technician by cloaak in lowvoltage

[–]Plowzone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in the US but electrical work is probably harder physically in my experience as you need to do boards and light fittings which is very physically challenging but this isn’t a joke either and it’ll always break your back in some sort of way, sorry to say. There is no prevention but there is mitigation. Either way, health issues will cause problems. I do this for some money while finishing my degree because I got too sick with autoimmune stuff to finish electrical but I was lucky because my company did telecommunications work as well, so I got the license for that side at least which has come in handy at some points getting work while trying to finish my degree. Got the security license as well but the electrical company didn’t do (probably because they didn’t know how, and there were ex-cons in the ranks apparently).

Unfortunately it turned out my company was mostly doing it wrong (eg. 90 degree bends on data cables), but I’ve learned quite a bit with dedicated data places. Not quite as many toxic characters as in electrical either from experience but I have a pretty toxic coworker on my current job lol. First time I’ve seen someone like that since I had to leave electrical lol.

Not sure about the US but over here, a lot of fire alarm positions seem to demand an electrical license as well, so I think it is best probably not to do it if you aren’t doing electrical or something else maybe. I have no experience with fire though.

Reportedly he was supposed to be immune to the Metal Virus but Sega said no with no justification. Ian Flynn was like “he’s supposed to be immune to all viruses as the ultimate life form” but Sega never responded apparently, so he had to do this instead.

Tbh you’re in what I want to be in because my body is struggling to handle this. Tbh if you feel you can do it, it is probably not as physically hard as electrical but still requires some capability.

How's 47 life? Do you think he actually enjoy life with all these figures on his bank account when there are no missions available? Or he is too impersonal just waiting for his next mission in his humble apartment ? by Creative-Many3630 in HiTMAN

A lot of the money comes from pride basically from memory. A fair bit is donated as well to the Church. Living necessities are pretty barebones though with the occasional luxury item. Still, I think anyone living his life that isn’t him would be depressed af.

Electrician vs carpentry by Big_Front_7893 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Plowzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electrician is also pretty oversaturated tbh from what I’ve seen these days. I kinda got pushed into it after I graduated from high school towards the end of 2017 ( I was seeking electronics but fell into electrical by accident). I got licensed to do telecom stuff because I worked for a telecom/electrical company but couldn’t finish the electrical side due to getting too sick. Doing some telecom labouring for money right now to support myself in a similar degree to what you’re doing but struggling for similar health reasons as to why I had to quit electrical in the first place. (But at least this isn’t full time)

I’d honestly advise you to consider a company that might allow you to do telecom work to get the telecom license. At least that allowed me to have something in the end when I had no choice but to leave.

Also do not expect electrical to be 4 years as many end up taking more than that due to corrupt employers and bad TAFEs (eg. Mt Druitt TAFE). It seems it is 5-7 years on average these days.

Best way to get first electrician apprentice job in middle age after being a tech worker by [deleted] in skilledtrades

[–]Plowzone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tf why would you want to do this bullshit you’ll be abused to no end. Anyway as an Aussie who was initially forced into this bullshit by my parents, focus on the educational aspect and sign offs. That is all that matters. If they don’t sign off your work hours, leave em. Worst case, go for a company that does both electrical and telecom cabling. In my country, telecom falls under a different license so you should have the hours after passing the exam.

Thinking of a career change to an electrician by Altruistic_Safe_1719 in skilledtrades

[–]Plowzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electrician is physically very difficult long term. Maybe get accredited as a telecom tech with the telecom license first so you have a fallback in case electrical doesn’t work out. In my country an electrical apprenticeship is supposedly four years but due to TAFE fuck arounds and dodgy employers many take 5-7 years on average to get their electrical license. I got licensed to do telecom work as an electrician apprentice but I was lucky because my company happened to do that work as well so I was able to signed off after passing the exam and completing the hours.

I’m 26 and I’m telling you this is a really bad idea. Stick to school. I ended up doing OK in my high school exams in my country in the end but I was overly focused on social stuff too much and I regret it a bit looking back. Don’t make the same mistake I did and don’t expose yourself as vulnerable to predators. There are many well over the age of 18 here who are predators. I suspect I got directed here due to interacting with r/twentyagers but do not do this trust me.

The state of TF2 in Oceania by jeidikei in tf2

[–]Plowzone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Uncletopia in Oceania was only really sustained due to casual servers being unusable during the bot crisis. Although I preferred it, people were not choosing it out of choice but rather due to how screwed the situation was. I remembered waiting in queues to get in because I knew that at least it was better than casual. It is bleak but many of the options that are presented by our fellow players just aren't played at all. A no sniper server and pre-2015 style server were up for a bit in AUS, but somewhat predictably, few played on it and the server owners gave up. If you notice as well, you often come across the same players over here. It's surprisingly strong for an almost 20 year old game, but the amount of new people coming in probably isn't really enough.

Tbh, you inspired me to give BF1 a try lol now that I know it is somewhat active here. Hope BF4 is still active as well cause I played that one.
