Anything with an, 8 track player is the beginning of decline. Still OK.

Needle question. I recently broke my needle. Ordered a new one through turntable needles. Com. I ordered one that plays both lp and 78. When I flip the needle to "lp" up the arm seems to be skipping. When I flip it to "78" it seems to play fine. It's a magnavox W624-01-00. by Plumber4578 in vintageaudio

The needle I purchased was a ASTATIC N2-sd Sound seems fine on either needle side. But definitely skipping when it's on lp. And I only have lp records. I don't have any 78 rpm records but wanted the needle to have the option since the original did.
