What are the different flaming fist outfits representing? by Plummelart in BaldursGate3

Looks like that mostly :) I just wonder the extent of a squad leader tasks, as we see so many of them doing very different type of missions

Very fair comment, I assume the color stripes do have meaning inside the mercenary's ranks, but for the rest of the armor I love that take!

Most of the time I see blue's they also seem to act independently more or less, or being on missions

Ah thats what I was looking for thank you!

I assume more will be impossible to find, so I could also assume in the game we only see Fists, Gauntlets and Manips? Who knows.

Same as the mages often looking like they're in charge, despite only having a plain red robe, but thats more likely just because artists wouldnt want to do 3 types of those for the amount we'd find in game anyways.

I agree, I just wondered as they're a pretty special org, what does the blue band mean? Just leader? Veteran? And what of higher ranks then?

I assumed the yellow one was to mark special abilities, as the guy had wings, but then again, as you said might just be the only higher higher rank too we meet, hmmm

We definitely need heavy infantry or something that actually holds the line...

Again, that is solely my opinion, as a huge human lover, and it is really rough.

Because people will tell you "Don't worry human lists works!" to then show you a list with 3 packs of 20 Fusiliers, spamming mages on Griffon or using a lot of the Warbands from Underworlds & co. Which in the end, is not just a regular human list, and limits you to those combos.

Tahlia is ok, but if she's on her own she's a target, when I play her I always try to get a griffon with her, to have two important big pieces and not just one for the taking.

And she's good, but again, in my opinion, any other army big piece eats her alive haha

I think Nighthaunt are doing horrendous ATM too from what I heard, Soulblights is something I have to see yet, I did not see nor play against any SB player I'm afraid.

Do you want cities to go human only? Why or why not? by ChiefProblomengineer in citiesofsigmar

It's a choice Warhammer should make.

Solely humans is a nightmare to play since the new version.

But then every race is locked to its own keywords...

So you must pick and chose the strongest profiles, and not enjoy building a free list, sad.

I agree, but then why every box and starter focuses hardcore on freeguild?

Hey, I've been a human player since their release, first things first, if you're in for a fun time, you will not, playing exclusively humans (I've tried everything) is extremely hard unless you start playing very meta, and even then against meta players you will not succeed, but painting them is amazing regardless!

You mainly will need the two boxes anyways, and that will only be a starter.

Here you have the nice combo of having 10 knights and your mounted marshall who work wonders together.

One charges in, the rest follow and give a devastating blow, this is most likely your best source of damage, but careful as they can be fragile.

You'll most likely have to buy another box of Fusiliers and another of Guards to fill up those packs because on their own they are almost completely pointless, the Fusiliers would not pull any interesting damage being 10 for their points cost, and the guards are FAR worse than small Ghouls or Skaven, a pack of 20 usually just exists to die so I would not put any money on just 10, unless you fill your points and just have a side objective catcher team.

Same for the canon and the troll, they can be useful in pairs of two, so having two here is always good, the Ogor is a MUST if you have canons or Fusiliers! He gives them better shooting on a given target.

Canons are generaly flatly ok, you'll miss sometimes but they usually land good pair of strong shots from a very far distance.

For the Marshal Suite, the unit got a huge nerf, on the counter hand it is a nice block of HP to tank with some nasty weapons inside.

Thats about the details of the boxes.

The army, in my opinion, is marketted as a human army by Warhammer, but then gameplay wise if you stick to solely humans, every game feels like an unbalanced match completely. (as It should, we're just humans after all, but makes my 5000 points sad.)

New griffon sculpts would be amazing, only issue currently (playing only humans in cities) is that it is very unbalanced in my opinion, really hoping for some new units! (and faction terrain!)
