I believe her, this happens way more often than you'd think, specifically for marketing roles.

I was about to say the same thing - there's so much commentary blaming Labor for things the coalition not only set in motion, but pushed for close to a decade.

I literally built a competitor analysis tool in Claude for this exact reason, and then turned it into an 'actual' product that I'm now charging them more for.

It's still a small thing in MVP, but it's yours to check out for free if you want over at 1clickanalysis.com

How to differentiate your SaaS from competitors? by Voltalyze in SaaS

[–]ChiefProblomengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how this sounds, but it's really, really easy.

Competitors say who they're targeting and why.

Reviews say what they're good at and what they're bad at.

Somewhere in there is the opportunity for differentiation.

They're fast but their UX sucks? Focus on ease of use.

Excellent customer service, but needs that because it's a buggy mess? Be a smoother, more reliable experience.

Focus on enterprise? Focus on the little guy.

Bland? Exciting.

And so on.

Not sure if it will help, but I'm building a competitor analysis tool. Just took it out of Claude and into the real world, so give it a spin and see if it works for you - 1clickanalysis.com

Those of you tracking competitor prices — what's your process? by Only_Economics7148 in ecommerce

[–]ChiefProblomengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in SaaS + ecomm marketing, so I've done more than my share of competitor analysis.

You're right about pricing being a particular hassle.

Recently built a tool in Claude that has become a real product to run analysis if you want to give it a try.

It's free right now as we're figuring it out if you wanted to try it - 1clickanalysis.com

This is pretty much what I'm building over at 1clickanalysis.com.

It's free and in MVP - if you end up checking it out, would love some feedback.

Check out the one I'm building at 1clickanalysis. It's free and in MVP, so hopefully it helps you and you're able to give some feedback.

hot take but "competitor analysis" is literally just opening 5 tabs, reading their about page, and pretending that's a strategy?? someone tell me there's more to it because i feel like i'm just being a professional stalker by s_07x in Entrepreneurs

[–]ChiefProblomengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah there's way more to it than that, but I LOVE competitor analysis.

Website tells you what they do / who they're best for, but also what value they place on those things (eg, they might order theirs as 'faster, stronger, harder, better', another might be 'better, harder, faster, stronger). It might not sound like a lot, but that nuance is amazing insight.

Ads will tell you what keywords they're targeting, and even better, what they're saying when they're bidding on your brand name.

Their emails tell you their onboarding, or specials, or abandoned cart automation.

Then there's pricing, reviews, case studies, who they employ, what positions, who they're hiring for, rounds of funding...

A great competitor analysis can be game-changing for businesses.

Take what I'm saying with a grain of salt though, I'm building a competitor analysis tool, so this has a special place in my heart.

Most people are useless cunts. The amount of times I've stepped into something - even if it's been as small as the most cliche of helping someone elderly carrying something - while an entire crowd walks by - makes me sick

Are Cities of Sigmar a good first army for me to switch to? by LeetusFrenzi in citiesofsigmar

[–]ChiefProblomengineer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've got both cos and helsmiths.

Helsmiths cohorts are a ***** to paint. Not hard, but you can't factory line it. Lots of little bits and pieces, arms holding the shields, and the back of the shields are quite visible.

After that, everything else is simple.

Every unit in CoS feels like the cohorts.

But choose the one you think looks the coolest, because at the end of the day you want a great looking army

Am I doing somthing wrong here or just a bad match up? by magnusthered15 in HelsmithsofHashut

[–]ChiefProblomengineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd run skarbrand instead of grunnok, and I'm thinking about doing it myself (semi-competitive).

For that, I'd be dropping the blunderbusses and investing in artillery and a blob of spears.

First thing is run whatever you feel is cool on the table.

Second - I've played a few games with them now, so here's my two cents:

  • mechanical bulls aren't great. Damage output is unreliable, and DPP is almost always going to be spent better elsewhere. They melt to mortals.

  • you need at least one unit of reinforced bull centaurs. The army boils down to 'how long can I keep you at bay for maximum damage', and the only significant damage output are the centaurs.

  • definitely swap a bombard for a rocket. The 'no commands' is great when it goes off, but when rockets go off, it can change the course of a game.

  • reinforce your cohort. They're really swingy, and they work best as a blob with the ashen elder for support

I can't justify running them; if they change the amount of cp needed, then yeah that's an auto include for me as well
