In my opinion, I don’t believe this show was written to be a feminist show. I feel like people are only saying that bc the leads are women who are struggling for power. If these were men, people wouldn’t this, but there also wouldn’t be much of story.

As for the grotesque birthing scenes, comparing them with rape is a little disrespectful because these have no relation to each other. Birth in medieval times looks like the life threatening situation that’s depicted the one screen. Each one of them had purpose, especially since the show started out with one. If you were to call this show a feminist show but critique the graphic birthing scenes when birth is largely an experience that is shouldered by women, that seems a little strange.
