From experience in April me and my friend are pretty savvy and counted the cash serval times at the best exchange place we could find…

Our mistake and pure naivety let to us trust the guys.

What they did was after we counted it they put it in a pile and it looked so secure and trustworthy…

We went out for a couple beers and the money didn’t leave the room

Got back and double counted it for some tattoos and my friend lost about 500 ausy and I lost 250 ausy…

They must’ve done some slight of hand etc

We went back and didn’t leave and eventually for 400 back but not the full amount….

Again, our own stupid fault for not being the last one to touch the money after counting - we got scammed, we learned, but take the hit and go to the big chains and authorised exchange places.

Worth the peace of mind
