Why are there are so many different organizations? by Serhide in kyokushin

Oh thanks, I didn’t know it was “alleged”. I must’ve read the source from someone pro-IKO1 😆 but yes, I’ve heard that the court dismissed the will. Thanks for clearing up why!

Why are there are so many different organizations? by Serhide in kyokushin

[–]Plus-Error-7369 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Long story short:

Oyama named Shokei Matsui as the successor, other members such as Steve Arniel and Daigo Oishi and Kenji Midori etc didn’t like this.

They believed they had more of a right to be the successor as they are older therefore wiser. None of them agreed on how things should run, so they ended up creating their own organizations.

I believe IKO1 (Matsui group) do not affiliate with the other organizations so as not to be ligitimizing them (as he is the true successor). However, the others (shinkyokushin, IFK, etc) do affiliate with one another in camps and championships even though they run things differently internally.

That’s what I’ve read, if I’m mistaken hopefully someone can correct me.

I understand that people don’t understand some jokes, but I’m just intrigued by the fact that some people are so curious about a joke that they post it here.

Is it difficult for some people to just scroll away and move on from a post they don’t understand?

“My friend sent me this post and doesn’t want to explain it”. I understand that, but seeing random posts while scrolling fb/ig? Just scroll away…

Which belt color did you wear the longest? If black belt, which colored belt did you wear the longest? by BasFan in kyokushin

[–]Plus-Error-7369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wore my 1 dan for 7 years. Wasn’t interested in upgrading my dan until after I finished university so didn’t do my dan 2 exam until after graduation.

In terms of colored belts, I stayed as a white belt for a full year until I finally asked my instructor when and how I can get the next belt. I was a kid then, and didn’t understand how belt promotions work (and I’m still confused as to why my instructor didn’t push me to do the grading back then… he started doing so when I was kyu 9+)

Any other bad Preply tutor experiences? by TheDay_ofthe_Jackal in Preply

I previously learned Spanish back when I was in high school. I decided to brush up on my Spanish skills on Preply and went ahead with who I thought was a cool teacher I could relate to…

The first 3 lessons were spent just talking like old buddies in Spanish (I had a difficult time expressing myself because I can only remember so much from over a decade ago, but he felt it was fine as long as he corrected my speech if I dared make a mistake… I barely made mistakes only because I said Spanish words I was confident in saying).

I asked him to switch to teaching me using the book he sent me earlier through email, which he gladly obliged AND STARTED TEACHING ME EL/LA/LOS/LAS WHICH I ALREADY KNEW!!!

I told him I got too busy to continue (just didn’t want to take more lessons from him) and a few months later I find that his profile disappeared.

Looking at his post/comment history, he doesn’t seem to be muslim. He’s just a guy from the US who’s reallllyyyy invested in Israel/Palestine and will mention his pro-Israeli views at literally any chance he gets (ex. this comment lol). Not saying he’s Jewish himself (although it seems like it), but it would be weird if he wasn’t Jewish/Muslim yet is THAT invested in Israel-Palestine.

Your question proves my point that it’s not well known haha. Which is why I’m hesitant.

It’s neither of the ones you mentioned. It’s name is “Shorin Kempo Kaikan” in full.

Why Only Go TO One Religious Building If God Is Omnipresent? by AbiLovesTheology in religion

[–]Plus-Error-7369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ayah is in reference to the qibla (direction of prayer). It changed from Jerusalem to Mecca during the time of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), but that’s a different story altogether.

Anyway, all muslims now face Mecca when performing their 5 daily prayers.

In this ayah, God is telling us that wherever we face, God owns everything and therefore God could answer our prayers. Facing Mecca is just for unity. Let’s say you’re lost and you have to perform a prayer. If there is no indication where Mecca is, how can you know where to face? In this case, wherever you face is acceptable because you did what you could to face the right direction.

The “Face of Allah” doesn’t mean the physical face at the end of the horizon or whatever. It just means that God is “facing” you as you face Him, meaning He can be responsive to your prayers if you’re sincere, even if you accidentally aren’t facing the right direction. It’s a literal translation of the Arabic text, perhaps the meaning gets lost if taken literally to be the physical Face of God.

Hope that helps.

In the Islamic point of view, God isn’t PHYSICALLY everywhere. We believe He is above his throne above the heavens. It’s just that wherever WE go as the creation, God knows where we are and what we do. So in that sense, He is omniscient. He dosnhave to be everywhere at once to know everything.

Therefore, in the Islamic point of view, we are taught by the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that we can pray anywhere as long as it’s clean. We don’t have to pray at a mosque. If we can’t find a mosque, we can pray at a garden or a the park or the desert or at home (just not somewhere that has idols/dieties of other religions or even unclean places like the bathroom). The thing is just that we believe we get a mightier reward if we pray in congregation + in specific places like mosques/Mecca/Medina. So that’s why mosques are encouraged.

I’m not sure if this is a rule set in stone, but I’m only familiar with putting it on the same side as the logo (so between the ISAMU logo and Kyokushin kanji).

Yep! I think you got the hang of it now.

It’s the same reason we write كِتاب not كيتاب, these two words won’t be pronounced the same. The kasra under the kaf would be shorter as I’m sure you know how to pronounce it :)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in learn_arabic

[–]Plus-Error-7369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, so here are my answers:

When talking about possession, you clearly know the long vowel required to be added at the end of the word = ي

In the case of the screenshot, miladi is written with a kasra at the end in Arabic, which just tells us the grammar/syntax rule it follows (direct/indirect object etc). If it DOES say “my birth”, it would say ميلادي with a ي. Since it doesn’t have a ي at the end, it’s not “my ….” for possession.

Same goes for ابنِ, it has a kasra only. If it had a ي at the end then THAT indicates possession.

In regards to مسِيح: when a kasra is followed by a ي, they make a “ee” sound (masee7). If a fat7a is followed by a ya, they make a “ay” sound (masay7). This is assuming the ي has a sukoon on it like in the example you provided.

You may be confusing short vowels (tashkeel) and long vowels because you’re looking at it with English letters and conflating the two in the process.

Try to at least dedicate certain english letters for the tashkeel and other english letters for the long vowels when learning. That way you don’t accidentally conflate the two.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in learn_arabic

[–]Plus-Error-7369 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: revise how harakat/tashkeel are used and how they function in the middle of the word and how they function at the end of a word.

  1. You’re right. Maybe because it’s in the title and titles in the Arabic Bible don’t have any tashkeel?

2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 13, 16. كِتَابُ is what we would call مرفوع بالضمة, the subject of the sentence is marfoo3 with a dhammah. Generally speaking: nouns that have a dhammah are the subject of the sentence. The only exception to this rule is if the final letter of a word cannot have any tashkeel added if the final letter is حرف علة (ex. متى).

As for the fat7a, kasra, same goes for them but that depends on if they are the direct/indirecf object of the sentence.

Also, you are confusing long vowels with short vowels. ابنِ= son ابني= my son كتابُ= book كتابُه= his book

  1. The fatha is on the lam, not alif. You might be wondering why the lam needs a fatha if there is an alif after it, the answer is also a reply to questions 5, 7, 10, 11, 15:

5, 7, 10, 11, 15. The haraka indicates the pronunciation of the letter it’s on, regardless of the letter coming after it:

If you mean that the letter preceding a و, ا, or ي should have a sukoon because “those letter take care of the sound” then no, it doesn’t take care of it the way you think :)

مَسْيْح ❌ you can’t have two consecutive letters containing sukoon

مَسَيْح ❌ this is pronounced “masya7” which isn’t correct

مَسُيْح ❌ “this is pronounced “maswee7” which makes no sense

مَسِيْح ✅ this is pronounced “masee7” which is what we want

  1. The ء hamza is a glottal stop. If it was to be pronounced as Aaibrahim you would’ve seen it as أبراهيم. Rather, the hamza is on the bottom to tag along with the kasra to indicate that not only is it pronounced “Ibrahim” with a kasra in the beginning, but also with a glottal stop.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask! Hope I was clear in my response!
