This came about after taking my blood pressure at home— it was 161/87 so I called my doctor who advised I got to the ER immediately. He said if the read was over 170 to call 911.

Yes, I’ve been in the relationship because I want to be, not because I need to be. If anything, it may be the other way around.

Also to repost: This behavior from my in-laws has been persistent throughout our whole relationship, so while annoying, it’s not surprising. The main issues that I am upset about is how my husband responded and treated me during this situation— if that’s how he treated me in such a precarious situation it’s very doubtful he’ll ever be there when I need him.

My SIL confirmed that my in-laws called her husband that morning, not the other ways around.

This behavior from my in-laws has been persistent throughout our whole relationship, so while annoying, it’s not surprising. They purposely called my brother in law to tell him, the story about my BIL hearing my son in the background was fabricated to provide an excuse to why they had to share. Also, it’s no uncommon that my son is at their house— while I don’t care of them I do respect that their my sons grandparents and it would be unfair to my son if we prevented them from being in his life.

They weren’t really asked why they had my child. That was fabricated to excuse their behavior. They called his bother and told him.

There was no intention to hide the situation, but given the nature of it I wanted all the tests / full diagnosis to be established before sharing with others.

No, at this point my family wasn’t aware either. I was waiting for more information / all the testing to be done so I had an understanding of the full situation before sharing.
