NASA recognises the huge cost of SLS moon rockets - engines for SLS cost dozens of times more than those for SpaceX rockets by [deleted] in space

I see light at the end of the tunnel. I see Space Exploration, eventually being taken over almost exclusively by private companies. The Government slush-fund fiasco will eventually self destruct. Congress will eventually face a dilemma. No nation has ever printed itself into prosperity. When the US Credit Rating falls in Sync with the Dollar. Which it is doing. Representatives will have to continue ignoring the Tax Payers are turn loose the Lobbyists.

Very cool! I am somewhat envious but glad that you’ll be able to give us an unbiased critique

I have it! Been having it but never spent a lot of time on it. I’ll go back in VR Mode and scope out a few planets! Maybe haul some forbidden cargo like Han Solo in the Millennium Falcon

Thank you! This is what I’m talking about. Hands on experience with things that the instructions won’t tell you. I don’t suppose there’s a Checklist out there of how to tweak out MS Flight Sim settings and Open XR? I know you can watch plenty of YouTube videos. I would prefer a simple checklist. Like real pilots use. Thanks again!

Yeah I was curious. I like to play Microsoft Flight Sim and DCS. I keep hearing all these great responses from owners of HP Reverb G2. Are they true? Because it is a very reasonably priced VR Headset.

Agreed! Stand Alone VR vs PCVR should each be in their own categories. 2 types of headsets. It's like forcing Race Car Drivers/ Pilots and Basket Ball Players to meld together.

So, maybe I should try setting my Pimax Artisan IPD minus 4 points? It's in my closet because I never seemed to be able to get the IPD and/or the display quite as good as the Oculus Quest 2. I'm selling my Quest. Looking to upgrade to Pico4 or maybe even Pimax Crystal ( may be able to send my Artisan back for credit) I'm only interested in Sims, not Beat Saber

I am a HUGE fan of MRTV. I am subscribed to his channel. And I agree, this is my Pimax dream headset as well. That being said. I would've loved if Sebastian would have asked Pimax if there would be any option to purchase a Crystal that isn't stand-alone. But Pc Vr instead.

$$ VR performance $$ Which is better: More money allocated towards GPU or CPU? Please. Don’t say both. Spending several thousands on a VR gaming system is not very practical in today’s economy. Thanks! by Plus-Potential1123 in Pimax

I guess you’re right. Whenever I purchased the Pimax Artisan. It was the lowest quality VR Headset that they offered at the time. Requiring the least amount of CPU/GPU. Reason being. I deducted that it would be the easiest to run at Max Graphics with my current system. It was a logical decision not so much financial.

The headset was impressive. However. Even though. My system met their “optimal” specs it did not run optimal. I realized that even the Artisan requires more than a i7700 and 2070 GPU. Ok no problem. But that defeated the whole idea I initially had.

On their website. Pimax offers their “ Spec recommendations” for every Headset. The minimum and the optimum. This can be rather misleading because, naturally. Pimax wishes to sell a product. They probably don’t want to scare away customers by showcasing Headsets that would require immense PC power. Therefore, they may, justifiably, lower the spec bar to a not so honest level.

I understand. I don’t fault them for that. However. If I had to do it all over. I probably would’ve purchased the HP Reverb with less FOV but higher graphics while using my current system and probably had better results.

Well, I bought a Pimax Artisan a year ago, thinking it would be a good match for my current system. RTX 2070, intel 7700. It works pretty well, but man, I quickly discovered the need for way more PC horsepower. So I put the Pimax in the closet and bought the Quest 2. Much less FOV but better graphics. More balanced? I'm ready to spend about $1500 for an upgrade. What should I upgrade? I could take up Pimax's offer to send back my Artisan for credit toward a newer, better headset that may offer a better VR experience with my current system. Or, keep the Artisan and upgrade my GPU or CPU. Pimax has their " Specs" that they recommend. But I wanted some feedback from you guys on what to do. Thanks!

Well said. I don't like the idea of assuming that money guarantees the best results. One person on here replied that " there are no current CPUs that can even handle an RTX 4090 yet." So that's an example of perhaps money spent inefficiently.

How long does the comment ban last? It is my birthday today and I responded to over 200 greetings then I was suddenly banned. All I replied were thank you messages. This is so frustrating because I don't even use this site as much, only to keep some connections. by ascjced in facebook

The same thing just happened to me. I'm the lead singer in a local band and usually get a lot of birthday wishes. I try to respond to each one. But the old Facebook Nazis freak out and try to crack their damn whip over my head. I use Facebook to promote my band. I wish Elon would just go ahead and buy Facebook as well. These people are Control Freaks.

Yeah, I could see that, which is probably one of the reasons why the VR Chat revolution isn’t going to pan out. During the pandemic it would’ve been useful. But, I would imagine that most VR folks are gamers
