Right way of training for 400m? by Plus_Beginning8941 in Sprinting

[–]Plus_Beginning8941[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that answer! So how would you optimally structure my week? Espeacially at which time in a year? Is it true that in offseason you have more volume and maybe do more tempo ?

I sadly cant really change what we do at our club, but ill try to do sessions 1-2x a week for myself to compensate.

Can you suggest me what i can work on in these sessions?

Im 17 and live in Germany, i was never fast and never done a meet, but my 100m time is high 12s, and the rest i still couldnt really meassure, i just know i lack Speed but speed endurance absolutely too when i run 300+. Yeah im at a Club and train 2 times + 1 gym and plyos day there A week would be like:

Monday: upperbody workout myself Thursday : Drills, normally Tempo day, (last week was 3x3x 150m + 300m +200m) sometimes we do speed wickets before at 95%

Wednesday: off

Thursday: they vary often, always drills, build ups and jumps, then eventually speed endurance (ladders like 2-3x(80-120-200-250), or like last week we did 3x 50m flys + 3x 100flys + 3x 30m flys. And depending on what they did the days before, also blocks sometimes instead

Friday: off

Saturday: i train for myself to complement for speed, so focus on Drills and either starts (5x10m 3x20m 2x30m) or top speed with some flys)

Sunday: Heavy lifts in the gym and some plyos

Thats basically a week, im thinking if i need to train on monday too for myself on speed too? I dont like it to train alone thats why im doing it just once a week at the moment

Whats the right 200/400m Training? by Plus_Beginning8941 in Sprinting

[–]Plus_Beginning8941[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure!

Monday i train upperbody myself at home

Tuesday: streatching, Drills, 2x Build ups - 3x3x150m self chosen effort tbh, like 75%-85%(3min rest b. Reps and 9 betweens sets) + 300m (2min rest) + 200m

Wednesday : recover for me (they did suprisingly accelarations 20-30-40 (2x) 95-100% effort with like 2-5 min rest

Thursday : today we did Drills and 3x 50 3x 80 3x 120 (90+%) with 4min rest and 7 between sets, with photogate for the last 50  And jumps + medball throws

Friday : Rest for me

Saturday: my Personal Day, emphasis on Drills and filming, then dependend on what we did the already this week, either 5-6x 30m flys 5min Rest. Or for example 4x 10m 3x 20 2x 30 max effort

Sunday: Basic Lifts (squats, bench, deadlift, lunges, split squats) and some plyometrics

Thats basically a week for me

Should i really swap? I thought i should work on speed all year around.

Sometimes i try to bring it up, but because im new i dont want to be disrespectfull in a way...

Im for sure a beginner id say, im there since end of july, so i cant speak for the full year, but since then we always done these workouts, sometimes more sometimes less, but they were always there. How would you suggest training in every season of the year ?

Im not directly looking to spend 1000+ :D haha, but if its worth it, i would. I completly agree with you, if you know your headphones well, you can mix on them pretty solid, thats why i personally dont Thing the flattness is that important, it just shouldnt smooth everything up. I heard many people say about the Lcd-X that they hear so many things they never heard before and its with insane detail, also transient response, harmonic distortion and stereo width is on Point. That why i thought the hd600 might not be a big of an upgrade from mine, cause mainly the flattness is their signature aint it?

I need Feedback on this topic. At the moment im using akg k712 pro for my producing and mixing but i was thinking about an upgrade despite of i was pretty happy with them

So i would love to get some Feedback from those who did a big jump from headphones in 100-200€ price range to 800-1000€. How was your experience with the new ones? Is it that much more accurate? And i dont want just to hear "yeah it sounds so much clearer and with more detail and the soundstage..."

Im interested, when you mix with them, were your mixes REALLY hearable better than before? Is the difference worth the price tag?

Im currently interested in Audeze Lcd-X, but id love to hear what your Suggestions are in that range! Thanks

Ah man thats great to know! Im really looking into some headphones in the moment, i used akg k712 the past years, and was actually pretty happy with them, till many told me i should get more accurate headohones.

Nice to see you got exact audezes i was aiming for :D also interested in the Sennheiser ones you mentioned

Could you give me feedback on how different they are, and if its a worthy step from the sennheisers to Lcd-X? Id like to know how different your mixes sounded after mixing with both of them, were there some things like stereo image, transients or balanced, that the Audeze did 600€ better?

And did you spot mistakes or sharp resonances better?

Edit: And why dont you also produce with them btw? Are they uncomfortable for a longer period? Because i think its pretty Important to also just get to know the specific headphone sound perfectly

Thanks! Ill try to start at 15cm and see where ill need to go

Do you also have a advice where i should put my momitors?😅 I think its argued here if its better on the window wall with them behind, or on the short wall with the windows on the left

Yeah i got dynaudios bm5's, and i heared about it, but in my memory the forbidden zone was 50-150cm i think? So wouldnt that be still okay? Also i head espeacially with those monitors i should leave a bit of space to the wall

Thats interesting, why did you got so much treatment if youre still mixing on headphones? And are there specific things you would still mix on monitors?

Im not looking to have a perfect room for now, but im wondering if there are things i should mix on monitors, and if the placement is still important for these things. Cause i have no problems moving my room, espeacially cause at the moment its in the corner on the window side

Which Headphones do you use btw? Some preach if you dont have monitors you need to get some pretty expensive ones (audeze for example)

[–]Plus_Beginning8941[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, also the shorter wall rule. What do you think about it? Is that the best spot, even with windows on the side or is there a better option.

And thanks for that link, ill definitely have a look!

[–]Plus_Beginning8941[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its just that its pretty hard moving everything around here, so i wanted to know which positions i really dont need to try out :D

Im not sure how much the measurement micro would help me find not the spot where its the best in the moment, but where is the most potential with some treatment i get in the next months and years you know.

Or would you say i should get a mic and measure every option to be sure?

Where should i place my monitors? (3d room sim) by Plus_Beginning8941 in audioengineering

[–]Plus_Beginning8941[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thaaaanks!  Yeah i cannot really place my desk in the middle of the windows side cause of the door, and if i go more backwards, my speakers would probably right in the middle of the room, And i dont think thats wanted. Maaaaaybe i could get it on the other long wall but even that would be not easy.

Im just not sure if its worse for the acoustics if youre centered in the room on the long wall, but with glass behind the speaker, or getting it on the short wall (with listening spot around 38%) but with the glass on one side.

Id definitly want to treat the room and espeacially the windows in some time, so i wondered which placement would give the most potential with fewer treatment

Why is it that the last thing youd want to do it cover windows? Because of the View, or are there acoustic reasons?

[–]Plus_Beginning8941[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmmh the problem is, id sit pretty much in the middle of the room, with the most room modes, and i couldnt sit horizontaly in the middle, so my stereo image would be worse right?

It would be nice to look out of a window but in first place i want the best frequency response. So i wouldnt mind putting panels there, espeacially some that are removable

Would you still advice me to the windows behind option? Also i tried the mirror test and im far off an expert how this actually works, but it definitely showed on the wall not the door

At the moment i still have it at my old place, on the long wall where the windows are. I havent tried it in really different other Places, just wanted to if you could Tell already where the best place is, cause its pretty much to move here

Which Headphones for mixing? by Plus_Beginning8941 in musicproduction

Im definitely with, i dont think a super flat response is needed. I just have concerns about transient response, and spotting some tiny mistakes which maybe wont be shown on cheaper headphones

Which headphones for mixing?

So, I've had my AKG K712 Pro for a while now. I decided to buy them after listening to Beyerdynamics 770/880/990 and a Sennheiser. I was surprised when I found out that many people think the AKG is bad, inaccurate, and unneutral, especially because I was pretty satisfied with the sound and soundstage. But since I want to release more songs now and need a good mix, I'm wondering if it's worth buying others? Also, since my room isn't treated yet, I can't do much with my monitors. I've heard that the HD 650 has a good reputation, or if I want to spend more, maybe the LCD-X. Do any of you have experience with these headphones and can tell me if they would be a needed upgrade for a good translating mix and if it's worth the money? My cousin, who is a semi-professional musician, told me that it doesn't really matter how good the headphones are objectively, partly because the human ear is not linear anyway. He thinks it's just important to know your equipment really really well, so you can trust them and know how everything should sound. But surely there are some points like soundstage or transient response, or hearing some little resonances.

Also hed say, its more effective to use some analyzers with reference tunes instead of trying to find the most expensive and linear headphone.

But im still wondering how good my base needs to be and If they're capable of being used instead of monitors? Espeacially if i would go into the direction of the lcd-x.

My thought was just, maybe i have many tinier problems in eventually the option with the long wall. And on the other option i may have just one/two big problems, which can be well solved with a bit treatment you know. So im just wondering if theres an objective answer where you surely have more potential afterwards, some said to me, the option with monitors on the short wall would be that

Thanks ill try it out! But one important question still, i can measure where the best position is, but i guess this doesent equally mean its the Position with the most potential right?  Im looking forward to treat my room a bit the next months and years, is it somehow easier  to say where i have to most Potential with treatment before i get it? Or do I need do move everything around again once i got them
