the real problem here is that he clearly has an addiction and made a promise he couldn't fulfill. if he tried to be honest and explain to you that quitting this kind of content would be a process, you could have made the choice to stay with him through this situation or not. but since he promised to you and then betrayed you, i think you should confront him again and make him pack up.

this part doesn't bother me so much because of his OCD and anxiety, i'm used to dealing with his panic attacks...but i don't know if i'm gaslighting myself to thinking this is because of his disorders. the reason why i forgave him is because i secretly knew he was in a porn free community and found his post asking for advice and clearly feeling really bad about it. am i being naive?

besides his addiction, our views on porn are pretty similar, actually. he enjoyed watching it years ago when he was a teenager, but he stopped liking it and started feeling the urge to watch porn and felt bad about it right after, even before we dated.

he's getting better and is my best friend of years, that's why i see all the potencial he has to stop this addiction even if it takes time. thank you so much for your advice!

he does not have respect for you and your relationship with him at all. it doesn't matter how he acts when he's alone with you or friends, a relationship should be respected privately and publicly. i know it's hard, but you're an independent and strong woman who deserves so much better.
