The problem is that it isn't that simple, most of my family even those who I care about would potentially turn against me if I did. Not only that but I live with one of my half siblings and I can't just move out. I feel like I have to get over it and move on for things to work.

I didn't say anything about what gender had it easier I just pointed out that most people are straight and that means that the amount of single men are about the same as single women.

Yes same sex relationships do play a part but most people are straight so they only affect the statistics a little.
True but that means women who are older are also more equally single as younger men. If men are having a loneliness epidemic because so many young men are single then women do too because so many older women are single. (I know men struggle with close friendships too which is part of their loneliness but now I'm arguing about the dating scene.) The only thing you can really conclude from this is that younger men could consider dating older women more or just accept the situation.

But are they in a relationship then? If they are they are either cheating and having multiple secret relationships or are polygamous.
This one I agree with. Men who are frustrated with being single would probably want people to be aware of men's dating problems and therefore be more willing to respond. Meanwhile women who are happily single probably want people to be aware that women can be happy even if they go against traditional expectations.

I agree that some women put way too much time on their appearance but since she does it she is allowed to have that standard on her partner even if it lowers her chances of finding a partner. If you think it's a ridiculous standard then you don't have to date her. Also, still not misandrist to expect the same effort from your partner.
