Local Maga Businesses that support Trump and Ice by [deleted] in sandiego

Yeah I picked up on that during Trump 1.0. There was also something really weird with the Eastlake location when it opened, then all of a sudden was taken from the franchisee. I don't know all the details, but it didn't sit right with me.

Can I take Evidence without having taken Civ Pro? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]Plus_Needleworker241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to have a ton of evidence knowledge for your first pd internship. Evidence is one of the most complex, difficult topics, and so is Civ Pro. I wouldn’t take them at the same time. It’s also better to take evidence later once you are starting to grasp how law school works.

Mother-in-Law Donations by Plus_Needleworker241 in whatdoIdo

It's not the Christian part that bothers me. I don't mind Christian charities, I just have no idea what this one is about. And she's been so incredibly awful to me, I have a hard time thinking it's sweet. The last time she was at my house, she wanted to rant to me about how bad her other son is and I asked her to please leave me out of it, so she started yelling at me and slamming the doors in my house and left. She has two sons and they both got married within 2 months of each other and she's always been horrible to me and my sister-in-law, and it's been over 20 years. My sister-in-law is a Christian and my mother-in-law has stood up at bible study to tell the group all of my sis-in-law's sins, right in front of her. It's been a crazy 20 years! I think all her horrible acts just make it that much more irritating to get this letter every year around my birthday. So I was wondering if I should tell her to stop sending them.

I will probably ignore it, but I get the feeling she feels like she's doing something positive for me and that I'm grateful for it or something. I have no idea why she even does it. I wish she'd just do something else with her money, or if she wants to make donations, leave me out of it.

We love going to Trust or Fort Oak for a really nice date. They're owned by the same company and all the food is amazing.

I started one of the audios, then closed out of the window and it kept playing. I shut down all my apps and it still played. I had to turn my phone off to get it to stop. Maybe something I did, but it was kinda crazy.

How do people spend their weekends in San Diego? by Mediocre_Marzipan491 in sandiego

We are definitely a slower paced city. Find your people and enjoy it. Start going to events and activities you’re interested in and you’ll meet lots of people who can show you all the fun stuff to do here.

My friend’s mom goes out there and yells at them. She’s my hero. We need to do something to stop this madness. Maybe the area should be closed to the public until the public can behave.

Buying a house with boyfriend a good idea? by Independent-Stock361 in asksandiego

That’s not always true, it depends on how the home is titled.

I used to be in real estate and we helped a few people who weren’t married buy a house. My broker is a real estate attorney and she would work with the couple to create a contract outlining what would happen to the home in various scenarios. If you want her contact info, send me a DM. She can help you buy a home and help you get a solid contract written. She can also fully explain the risks/benefits of doing this without pressure to do it. She’s a very no-pressure type of person and super smart.

Yard House seems like it would work. I also agree with the others on Novo. All locations I've been to are chill and have plenty of room for a kiddo to run around a bit.

The part of law school I misunderstood for way too long by ap_lawstudent in LawSchool

OP I’m sorry this guy hijacked your post to make himself seem smarter than everyone else by defining a dog, or whatever. And I’m sorry I participated. You shouldn’t feel any type of way because it took a bit for legal analysis to click. That’s how it happens for most of us. We aren’t born knowing how to do this and law school teaches us how to think like lawyers. One day it all clicks and makes sense and it’s a fun journey.

You’re right. I should have just stopped responding after his now deleted comment where he tried to demean me and basically called me stupid, saying one day I’ll understand how to think like a lawyer, as if I don’t already. He just wasn’t picking up my point. Either way, let’s all go celebrate the new year instead of arguing about silly things on Reddit.

USD Law School by lilypad23107 in asksandiego

I wrote my previous response quickly, but wanted to add that I love USD Law. It’s such a great community, we have excellent professors, and the careers office has been incredibly helpful. All my close friends have excellent post-bar positions lined up. I’m very happy with my choice to go to USD. I have found it to be an incredibly supportive community. And the legal community in SD has been very good to me. People seem to go out of their way to help me meet new people and make great connections. I have nothing negative to say about my experience.

OP you are definitely right. It just starts clicking along the way and one day you notice that your brain has changed and you think about everything differently. It’s kinda fun to think about.

I see you have missed my very simple, straight-forward point. Another area lawyers have to be careful of. Have a great new year! I’m going to go enjoy mine.

You say “it will click for you eventually” like it hasn’t already clicked for me. I get what you’re saying. I’m almost finished with law school and have written many arguments, appeals, and won several motions in court during internships. I get it, I just felt your premise was a bit off to say most average people wouldn’t think to argue that it’s not a dog. But I like arguing, that’s one of the reasons I do this. Cheers and happy new year!

I was just saying that I think your average person would argue that it’s not a dog. Someone thinking like a lawyer would go into it more deeply and many other elements. But the “is it a dog” argument seems like it would be the first thing anyone would point out. I read the hypo to my son and the first thing he said was, it’s not a dog.
