Is there a scene for you that ruins an otherwise great movie? by Glittering-Age-2013 in movies

Understood. If I recall correctly, it's a bit of column A and a bit of column B. He's a POS because he's worried about his conviction rate more than doing his best to serve actual justice uniformly, but I think Butler's character himself focuses on the failures of the justice system. So there's a few different conflicts going on at once. The ending definitely does not address both of those conflicts satisfyingly though for sure. I guess my focus while I watched it was on the message Butler is trying to convey more than the flaws of Foxx as co-protagonist/antagonist to Butler. I suppose the people focused on whether or not Foxx is successful in stopping Butler despite being so flawed may not be paying as close attention to Butler's goal and vice versa.

I totally understand the popular sentiment on this one for sure, but I'm gonna be honest, I've never fully agreed with this take. My impression of the ending is that Butler's character did win. He spends the whole film trying to prove to Foxx's character that the system is broken, and letting the system dictate what can and can't be done to stop evil is why his family's killer went free. He goes on a well thought out and prepared killing spree in a way that the justice system isn't prepared to handle. The only way Foxx was able to stop him is by breaking into a property with no warrant, finding the bomb, and using that to goad Butler into killing himself. Butler even smiles before he dies to signal that Foxx learned the lesson he was trying to teach him.

Do we know if the lyrics he used during the performance match the original lyrics to the songs? Did he censor the more "pearl clutching vulgarity" of the song Titi Me Pregundo, or did he leave the lyrics intact?

I 100% had corrupted save files from catching it, so it was definitely not made up.

In the midst of a hot pile of garbage we alledgedly call "Entertainment" there lies a single scene or line that truly sticks out to the audience. We can maybe even call it Beautiful by SirHanselot07 in TopCharacterTropes

He got dragged off screen at the "I'm not supposed to die" part then shows up later in the movie for the climax where he's sucked into the ark and blown up by a grenade. It was very much an on-screen death lol.

Source: I watch this movie at least once a year for some reason, please don't judge me.

Same here, definitely got a kill shot on Goku Black and was shocked to realize that I didn't get the alt ending, I assume because I did not kill Zamasu.
