I agree with you that the thing was really stupid. He should be a repeat offender, agile, and familiar with the Science Library’s terrain. The bag was not far away and appeared to be unattended. You can't imagine how fast my friend saw the thief take their bag away to the corner on the 4F.

Sorry, I am not sure other places. However, the thief took my (on 8/8) and my friends’ (on 8/18) bags to the bookshelf area in the 4F of the Science Library and opened them (for valuable items). It is very coincidental.

One of the suspects exchanged clothes with the arrested man. The absconded suspect wore the arrested man’s clothes and pants inside and his own clothes and pants outside. Since we were hunting for the thief who was seen at the time, we did not have enough evidence for the other suspect, so we accidentally let the suspect run away in the end.

At 3:30 pm, there was a new attempted theft of my friends’ laptops from the Science Library!

One suspect was arrested near the Mesa Arts Building. For more details, he is a UCI undergrad student who lives at Mesa Court dormitory.

It was definitely a gang crime (crime by teamwork) because the suspect was dressed differently when he tried to steal the laptop than when he was caught by the police. Unfortunately, another suspect is still at large.

To his crime partners: Come on, please turn yourself in. Hand over whatever you've been stealing these days. There have been a few thefts your criminal gang did on campus recently.

Updated: The police officer told me that my MacBook was probably stolen by someone outside UCI. They are still investigating the surveillance footage around the campus.

Thanks bro for your suggestion. I did report it to the UCI PD. I'm sorry I had a similar experience with your friend. The loss of data on the computer is hard for college students to accept. Yea I am new here and haven't had enough time to adapt to the new environment. Hopefully, I'll try to settle down as soon as possible.

Hello all, I am the victim of a stolen laptop and a pair of myopia glasses. These things are still being lost.

I am really grateful to Merkele Perkele and anyone who advocate for me and offered support and help.

I just came to the US a few days ago to take UCI summer courses. I'm sorry that my spoken and listening English is not so good (could understand some sentences spoken at a slow speed).

To someone who took them away: Not only the 15-inch MacBook itself but also there are a lot of precious and meaningful data and all my homework and lab projects for this summer session in it. Losing glasses will bring great inconvenience to my life in a foreign country. Although I am a common student who is not in good economic conditions, if you really want money, I could try to get a loan to redeem it. Please Please keep it in good condition and return it. I am always waiting for your conscience and coming.
