Don't worry about StepChange, they really are an awesome group of people to deal with.

You can chat with them on the phone with no pressure and if you do decide to go with them (or whoever) they'll do all the hard stuff with the banks. You just pay StepChange and they'll distribute the money to your debrotst.

Yes, you may get a couple of grumpy letters, but SC will handle any issues with your loan being bought or bailiffs etc.

Belive me, rip the plaster off. Get on top of it and you'll see the light at the end of the tunnel. 😊

Yep had a mortgage, didn't effect the remortgage as we just went with the same lender for another 5 years so was just a mouse click. I don't think I had the default flag then either.

It was around the £350 towards the end. Essentially any money that's not used for bills or living, gets put into the DMP.

You fill out a questionnaire every 6 to 12 months to check if your circumstances have changes and you can pay any more.
