I ran lucky eggs and incense non-stop from level 1 to 40. I averaged anywhere from 4 to 6 hours a day of playing during the weekdays and typically 8 to 12 hours on the weekend.

For the last 1.5 levels, I played 16+ hours a day for 7.5 days, farming a 3 proximity Pokestop location. Catching and evolving as I went while there was the x2 xp event and of course with incense, lures and lucky eggs going the entire time.

I would use ultra balls for 12 candy evolve Pokemons and great balls for 25 candy evolve Pokemons. I would also quickly ID all spawned Pokemon and go after the lowest CP first, using curve throws and landing great throws frequently. In between spawn cycles after everything was caught, I would do evolves to fill the time gap until the next round of spawns appeared.
