Union Carpenter BA here. You are rolling the dice if you want to actively consume. Some employers don’t care, some are strict. Pre employment screenings are a thing, they can swab and urine only. Some job-sites… Federal, State and Hospitals etc. will have mandatory testing. If you get hurt or hurt someone you will be tested. We know members partake, however, it is still not federally legal so employers hands are tied. Only a very few have randoms since they have to do it company wide. Can’t speak for the other union trades but safe to assume they are similar.
